No reception inside my home even though Sprint assured me there would be. Now they tell me that "mobile" phones are for outside use, not inside use. They claim cell phones are not meant to be used inside buildings which is ridiculous. Sprint customer service is impossible to deal with. Other people in the area say the same about Sprint's reception no matter what type of phone they have.

Before I renewed my contract in Dec 06, my whole family used Nokia 3220 and we never have any problem with drop calls or bad reception. After we renewed the contract and got new phones i.e. Samsung 707A, LG 400 and LG 500, we have nothing but problems, drop calls all the time, cannot make calls from some part of the house. Sometimes I called my husband phone but it did not ring and there was no miss call. It got so bad that my daughter returned her phone to Cingular (AT&T) and went back to use her old Nokia 3220. So far she does not have any problem with the service, makes me think that it is the phone and not the network. My husband and I still use the new phones and fight the drop calls every day.

seems that service quality has dropped in the last 2 or so months. so freaking terrible. can't get service in house but when we go outside seems there is a 5 minuted cut-off if we can get a call to go through. I want out of my contract!

One bar of reception in the house. Dropped calls constantly. Sprint is impossible to deal with. G'town store tells me I have to drive to RR store to have my discontinued phone tested even though they admit there's only one tower with in range of my address - and that it is probably oversubscribed, further diminishing reception capabilities. They will not let me out of my contract because the 30-day trial period has expired... despite the fact that I didn't live in this area (or have these issues where I did live) when I started the contract!

Most of the time the reception is pretty good. My husband is on Nextel, and he gets little to no reception in our home. Friends in Brushy Creek get no cell reception at all, regardless of the carrier, when in their neighborhood. Go figure. Verizon is better than average on reception, but Sprint is better than average on pricing. Both have EVDO coverage that is good in this area.

I have had nightmare after nightmare with Cingular. I stopped getting decent service after being on their plan for about 2 years, and they were still over-charging me! Calls were dropped in major areas (like Hwy. 35 in Austin), people could call me but I couldn't call them, and I was roaming in places that should have been covered under my plan. After paying the outrageous early cancellation fee, I moved to AT&T and had to deal with the problems they had trying to keep the same phone number with a different carrier. After a month of good service with AT&T, they were bought out by Cingular and, sure enough, my service started getting worse after a couple of months. Their customer service was abysmal, the phone service was lousy, and my bills were always higher than they should have been. STAY AWAY FROM CINGULAR! I got fed up and paid another cancellation fee and have been happy with Verizon ever since!

I've had Sprint service for 10 years and it's been very good in Central Texas and in and around many major cities in the US: Philadelphia, Washington DC, Seattle, San Diego, Las Vegas, West Palm Beach, many others. It's not always good when I get more than 40-60 miles from a major population center (as in Nashua NH or Frecderickburg TX.)

I will occasionally get a bar or two indictaing minimal reception. Unless I stop to finish the call, it will drop out. I get better reception on I-35 but only as I approach Austin.
