Cell reception near Gladewater Country Club is good and reliable. I commute to Big Sandy daily, where I consider my Alltel reception to be average. There are several "dead zones" but no carrier seems to work there; I have also used AT&T / Cingular. Alltel has been much more reliable for me in the rural areas of East Texas (Wood, Upshur, Gregg, Smith counties). My experience with AT&T / Cingular in Big Sandy / Hawkins was very poor reception. I also experienced poor customer service during the first Cingular / AT&T switch-I actually paid the early cancellation fees on 2 lines to switch to Alltel. I travel weekly to Dallas and have good reception nearly the entire way. In Canton / Edgewood the reception is very poor (both on I-20 and HWY 80), but once I'm past this location reception is fine again. Alltel customer since 2005, and would recommend them to anyone in my home area.

I've considered placing the phone under my tire and pulling forward and backward a few times to see if I get better service. Searching for a new carrier.
