Absolutely awful 3G connectivity in this area. T-Mobile phones like my own(HD2) and guests with a range of other makes and models seem to indecisively hop from the various types of towers in this area, which makes for a sketchy at best internet experience. Calls dropped on a regular basis. T-Mobile service in this area is a nightmare. Proceed with caution.

No reception, or a lot of dropped calls whenever you do get reception. I have been with T-Mobile for many many years, and this is the worst ever. I no longer have contracts with them, so I might look for something better if this doesn't clear up soon.

Excellent Tech support (Thanks Tom) and customer service. My I-Phone 4 (officially unlocked - $1000 from UK - I just hate contracts) works great except the Data channels for 3G / 4G not compatible with T-Mobile. I only get 2G service for Data speeds. It should be OK for everyone if they merge with AT&T (not less than 1 year).

Can't depend on this bleep bleep blackberry bold 9700 for anything. Must get my land line back in case of emergency. Hardly "zip" for making calls anywhere else in the apt. except to stand by window (if lucky it works). Lots of dropped calls. Making calls - phone won't ring unless try several times. Lots of missed calls - phone never rang. It's only a few months old, now the battery won't hold a charge. I hate to say it, but TX coverage with T-Mobile really does stink! I am sick of paying $147 a month for 2 useless "pieces of garbage" T-Mobile phone's. My son is on my a / c with a G1, which isn't much better! When he is at my place, he has to go outside for decent reception.

My cell is my only means of communication and people tell me all the time that they have to call me 7-8 times before it rings... .otherwise, it goes to vmail. I consistently have calls drop. I have contacted T Mobile and requested a boost which seems to have worked for awhile but now is as bad as ever. Not sure if a better quality phone would help (I've used low-end Nokias). However, have had friends over with better quality phones (also on T Mobile network) and they have calls dropped as well.

Excellent and consistent coverage indoors and out all over Houston (except at the 610 / Memorial Drive / RR tracks intersection by Memorial Park, where nobody I know of gets reception) as well as in Boston, New York City, Montreal, Seattle, Miami and their broad environs. Even works seamlessly in elevators. Only reception problems are in deep interiors of buildings built heavily of concrete. However, have had problems with customer service overseas and with handsets evidently designed to break down four months before the end of 2-year contracts.

But I could see other people talking on their cell when I lost my signal. It is the same 0 bar signal inside the IAH C building for my phone as well as my son's, Nokia 6101 until I get into the walkway to Terminal D or E to get signal back. I have to said that T-Mobile has an amazing network in the sugarland area. It is also amazing in major highways. Reception is spotty in North Houston. However, the network is horrible inside buildings. T-Mobile is horrible in city where there were many tall buildings such as New York City.Well, I guess other GSM carrier are the same when it comes to reception inside buildings and rural area. Overall, GSM coverage in the USA needs a lot of improvement. When I travel to Asia and Europe, I found their GSM network much better than the USA, because I get reception pretty much everywhere including subways, basement, buildings and even rural areas. Europe seems to have the best network.

I use my cell phone mainly in the northwest Housotn area. I've had little or no trouble from The Woodlands to Pasadena, from Hempstead to Southwest Houston. I'm surprised to read the less than satisfactory experience T-Mobil users are having. I couldn't be happier however all I use it for is making and receiving calls. My boss has a more expensive model and seems to have problems quite often. I didn't think the phone make or model would make that much difference, but reading these and other revirews for T-Mobile, I am beginning to beleive the phone make and model can make a big difference.
