Had Cingular but lost phone and company switched to ATT. Reception with Cingular was bad at home and at work but wonderful everywhere else. New ATT phone miserable too. Works all over the world but not at my house. Cingular says if I upgrade to a Cingular phone I will get better reception but of course cant do that till my contract is out. Have hated ATT for years. Now I can hate Cingular too... ... ... .

Reception comes and goes, mostly goes. Strong signal for a few minutes, then "no service". No service is much more common.

Poor reception in and around Clear lake City Blvd.since 2001 on different GSM phones. Reception in my home which is in this immediate area is weak and unreliable. Carrier states that my zone is in between areas of moderate and high coverage. WTF is that supposed to mean?

Neither my wife (TDMA) nor I (GSM) get any reception from Cingular in or near our home. The 6820 has a strong radio, but doesn't pick up a signal that isn't there.

While i'm not sure if Verizon has the best plans... .I really can't complain about anything. The most impressive thing was that I never lost reception during Alison or ANY of our storms last year. I have reception in places I'm told others don't and have been way out in the back roads on my motorcycle and have gotten reception. I do have an occasional dropped call. While i'm thinking of looking at other companies, what I'm reading here may change that.

I have to said that T-Mobile has an amazing network in the sugarland area. It is also amazing in major highways. Reception is spotty in North Houston. However, the network is horrible inside buildings. T-Mobile is horrible in city where there were many tall buildings such as New York City.Well, I guess other GSM carrier are the same when it comes to reception inside buildings and rural area. Overall, GSM coverage in the USA needs a lot of improvement. When I travel to Asia and Europe, I found their GSM network much better than the USA, because I get reception pretty much everywhere including subways, basement, buildings and even rural areas. Europe seems to have the best network.

I use my cell phone mainly in the northwest Housotn area. I've had little or no trouble from The Woodlands to Pasadena, from Hempstead to Southwest Houston. I'm surprised to read the less than satisfactory experience T-Mobil users are having. I couldn't be happier however all I use it for is making and receiving calls. My boss has a more expensive model and seems to have problems quite often. I didn't think the phone make or model would make that much difference, but reading these and other revirews for T-Mobile, I am beginning to beleive the phone make and model can make a big difference.
