Downtown in the 4th largest city inthe country on one of the most traveled streets in the city and no service. Cingular / ATT service coverage is really ragged in Houston but this area is the worst.

I get reception everywhere downtown when others with different carriers don't. Even inside of downtown buildings. The only place I don't get service is in the underground tunnel system, but does anyone get service down there?

Coverage is great inside my house and out. Generally no problems with Sprint in Houston except near Houston Center on the east side of Downtown... goes to analog roam. Same thing happened yesterday in the new trench on US 59 just south of downtown, although towers line that stretch of freeway. That being said, I still have yet to experience a dropped call, although roaming can be pricey at 50 cents / min.

Constantly loosing GSM network in courthouse as well as TDMA -- but for TDMA 80% of time would have no network. Note: S46 is Multi Mode Phone that switches automatically between GSM (ATT Wireless) and TDMA (ATT)

UofH Satellite MD Anderson Library / Satellite,MD Anderson Library, Inside Buildings intersection, Houston, TX 77004 Thu Feb 22, 2007

Overall I believe Verizon has the best network especially at the University of Houston0-main. You know the satellite, underground dining, where most of my friends have no signal (yes ironic name) but I at most 2 bars, which is better than their 0bars. Even in classrooms like the fleming building or the Science Engineering and Research classrooms I get signal. And last but not least, the MD Anderson Library. I get signal in the computer lab. It does at times go in and out, but hey I am getting signal and not T-Mobile or cingular. or Sprint ha ha poor sprint. Not sure about cricket though. I just wish verizon's plans werent so expensive, but hey for signal pretty much anywhere is a good trade off. You get what you pay for.

Neither my wife (TDMA) nor I (GSM) get any reception from Cingular in or near our home. The 6820 has a strong radio, but doesn't pick up a signal that isn't there.
