Always have excellent reception; dropped calls very rarly occur with Verizon, I've been on their plan, going on 3 years! Once or twice at Irving Blvd. and Story Rd. reception has been lost; it hasn't really bothered me too much; I don't frequent that neighborhood very often.

My service seems to be getting worse over the past few years. Before I could talk inside my apartment with at least 3 bars. Then I could talk if I stood near the door or windows. After that I had to move to the patio. Now I have to stand in the lawn about 10 feet from the building for my phone not to drop calls. Fairly stong reception 114 and O'Connor. Driving around DFW is sporadic. Seems I have all 5 bars until I make a call, then it gets dropped. Could be older phone. Can't decide if I should switch carriers or not... .

New phone with 2-3 bars indoors. Outside reception 2 to an occasional 4 bars. My old phone a Sanyo SCP - 5300 had an almost constant 4 bars even indoors. I compared reception of my existing phone with another MM-7400 and the newer version of the old phone VM-4500 (SCP-5500) and the results were similar. The 7400 indicated 2-3 bars, while the 5500 indicated a strong 4 bars. Call quality on the new phone however, seems to be as good as before inspite of the indicate fewer number of bars. I've been unable to find out from anyone from sprint if the new phone is more sensitive and indicating more true signal strength or the "other" phones (5300 & 5500) are indicating a false stronger signal. Not sure if either is the case, but lack of some technical expertise from sprint can only lead to speculation. One thing I did with both phones was to request an update (PRL Update) that's not mentioned very much, but it's an update in which the carrier updates the phone so that it can utilize the most current info regarding cell phone tower locations. The idea is that as new towers are added to new areas, phones may not automatically recognize this resulting in continued poor signals or dropped calls in certain areas. I recommend calling tech support to make sure that your phone has the most current available update if experiencing major problems.

I have had a great experience with Verizon in DFW. They provide great service in my office, at home and everywhere in between. I would suggest them to anyone.

I have seen very few of my family, friends and co-workers that are completely satisfied with there wireless service. As consumers we have rushed to the wireless feed bucket like starving cattle. Telecom companies have for 10 years now fed us, over all poor service and we eat it up like there is no other choice. Truth is all of the Telecom companies wireless service sux and we continue to accept it. I have heard the "Infrastructure excuse for 10 years now. I say bull kaka. We pay way too much for the so called "Service" that the Telecom industry charges for its substandard product. How many of you would keep buying cars that run well only in certain areas of town at certain times of the day? When auto's have as large a scale flaw as wireless service has, we get the government to force the auto manufacture to recall the lemons. What did we do with the power that consumers once held?

"There aren't any towers in zip code 75231. This is a "dead zone."" No, it's not. I was there last night at that same intersection (posting an ambulance in front of the PrimaCare) and had 5 bars. I work for an ambulance company and am all over the DFW Metroplex. I had AT&T and had pretty lousy coverage with the iPhone and the RAZR. We switched to T-Mobile and the coverage has been great, even inside the Baylor hospitals. MetroPCS comes in second.
