Sprint's coverage in the Katy area is awful with little ability to use data. Most of the time I receive a 1x and rarely able to use LTE. Get with it Sprint, put a tower up in Katy

The AT&T phone service at best is one bar in my area. Most times callers can not understand me due to poor call quality. Even stepping outside is not much better. Looking around at other phone service companies and option of mini indoor tower.

If you have Sprint for your phone, and live in Katy, I hope you are Amish or you have good wifi.

Good quality phone calls, with rare dropped calls, even though I only have 2 out 5 bars of signal in some spots in my house. 4 out 5 bar in some others. Data is very slow but reliable. Dont try to load a GIF on data, it takes forever. But I can still stream soundcloud, or pandora with no problem. I just wish data speeds were much much faster for loading large images like.GIF files.

Cricket is horrible out here in Katy. Constant dropped calls, half of our calls go straight to voicemail. DO NOT USE CRICKET if you have kids in school, if there's an emergency, it's just a bad choice when no one can contact you. My parents visited from South Texas and used H2O on their factory unlocked Iphones. H20 had excellent reception with at least 3-4 bars thruout the house. We will be switching.

AT&T coverage is marginal throughout most of Cisco Ranch due in large part to a shortage of towers, which it seems are banned by local HOA restrictions. Not AT&T's fault. They have repeatedly approached the HOAs and been turned away. Residents are screaming about poor coverage but apparently don't want the required towers to fix the problem.

Very weak signal throughout cinco ranch, no signal in house. Calls constantly dropped or going to voice mail. If a call does go through, it takes 20 - 30 seconds to connect. Terrible coverage. Looking for new provider now.

Voice service is ok, generally reliable. No problems at home or even in buildings closer to downtown Houston. Data, from Whatsapp to internet, is a nightmare. Text messaging is a real lottery. You never know if you will have service, and the most certain thing that will happen is that you will not, when you need it more.

Frequent dropped calls and calls that never arrive. Still looking for a good carrier out here. Tried AT&T and it was essentially the same.

WE moved to the Katy / Cinco Ranch area about six weeks ago and our phone service went from very good in the north Dallas area to poor to no service. I cannot get any reception in our home and my kids gave minimum reception in school. They use their phones alot in school to look up things in class, while they are still waiting for their stuff to download, everyone else in the class has already found the items and moved on to the next look up. Very frustrating. My navigation system may or may not work, most of the time it does not which is very frustrating in a new area trying to get around. We are planning to leave Sprint asap. We are tried to the no reception, missed calls, dropped calls, no calls.

DO NOT GET AT&T FOR WIRELESS SERVICE IF YOU LIVE IN CINCO RANCH - PERIOD. Have had AT&T since they took over Cingular, not my choice. Started to experience poor signal quality, dropped calls,, etc. about two years ago. Made multiple trips to the local AT&T store for resolution to no avail. I was LIED to by the store personnel that it was a problem with my phone and told I needed a 4G capable phone to take advantage of their tower upgrades. So now I have a iPhone 4 with a two year contract extension AND THE SERVICE IS WORSE THAN BEFFORE. They lied about the tower upgrades as NO NEW TOWERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED IN THIS AREA. Also, they do not provide 4G service. And I pay additional for a data plan - more money in their pocket to run false ads on TV. The BOTTOM LINE is too many users and not enough towers to keep up with the volume. You also have to deal with MORONS that don't have a clue about the products they sell or what "Customer Service" means, being consistently lied to and contracts that don't allow ANY legal recourse other than working within AT&T's arbitration system - GOOD LUCK! When my contract is up in November 2013, I'll be switching to Verizon. DON'T SAY YOU WEREN'T WARNED!

Have lived in our home for 6 years and have o 0 bars in the house ans 1 bar outside if we are lucky. Finally after years of frustration and countless dropped calls we called AT&T to let them know we were done with our contract and were going to another provider. The rep checked our neighborhood out, and said there were a large number of homes around that had microcells, which confirmed there was a weak signal in our area. She offered to help us get a microcell at no cost. She stated the request would have to go through several departments, and after about 10 days she called and said the microcell was approved and we just needed to call their equipment department and order it. She stated our account would be credited the $200.00 cost. We ordered the microcell and set it up. It worked great and for the first time in 6 years we could talk on our cell phone anywhere in the house. A week later we were contacted by another department at AT &T and were told that after further review, we would not be credited for the microcell. Called and complained and was told the rep that instructed us to order the microcell with a promised credit should not have done that, even though the instructions were noted in our account notes. We were livid. Called the rep that gave us the original okay, and she was very apologetic and stated she went through the proper channels and the no cost microcell had been approved and specifically authorized by her supervisor. She was diplomatic, but was clearly frustrated that another dept. Official chose to override her authorization. When my wife told them we were going to switch providers as a result of the horrible customer service experience, we were told to go ahead and switch. So say goodbye to a 14 year loyal customer AT&T, along with our family's 4 lines with data plans. Your loss will be another provider's gain.

I have used Sprint as my carrier since 2001 and had no problems until March 2013. all of a sudden I have dropped calls, cannot make or receive calls, do not receive emails or texts. Little or no "bars"on phone. I'm wondering with the I-10 expansion in this area, is the new construction blocking the tower signals somehow. Sprint better get on the ball or everyone will be dropping their services. FYI- my home computer bars have also been affected around the same time. HELP Sprint, we need some reception out here!

If I am standing in 1 spot in the back yard I can get a signal but nothing in the house or garage. Phone doesn't even ring or register missed calls. Some texts come through from time to time but not all. Did not have this issue on the other side of Katy. It is the area. Need more towers.

Cell phone service is pretty horrible for the majority of providers in the Cinco Ranch area. My parents have AT&T with bad signal and I have Cricket with bad signal. My boss uses Sprint, bad signal. The problem is not the providers but the fact that Cinco Ranch does not have cell phone towers because they "look bad". Well that's a bunch of B.S. to me. All these people pay good money for their service but Cinco Ranch has everyone wasting money because they won't put up towers. I think there should be a petition for it.
