I think I change cell towers right in the middle of my home. I can have a call in progress and walk out my front door and the other party either can't hear me or I drop the call. this is not just my phone this happens with just about any one that may come to my house even with different carriers. A tower is a tower there are all kinds of antennas on a tower

It fluctuates between "No Service" to 2 bars. Constantly drops calls and audio quality is horrific. AT&T is a major disappointment.

It is not how many bars you get but how well the network works! I have recently changed from a Motorola Q9m to the iPhone. I drive all over the metroplex and in may cases experience several dropped calls and VERY poor (can not understand the person) voice quality on AT&T 3G network. The data service are the worst I have used and 1XRTT works much better (1x is a 2.75G speed). This is an unacceptable quality of service. I will be switching back as soon a the contract is up. Save me!

I've had AT&T / Cingular / AT&T for years now and the service has continually gotten better as far as coverage. I have very few dropped calls anymore and with the exception of being in metal buildings near downtown Dallas, have 4-5 bar coverage.

Cingular has switched out this phone 5 times for me and they are all the same. Now they tell me that they can't (won't) upgrade me free of charge. I have to call forward this phone to my home phone while at home so that I can recieve calls. My friends with other models of Cingular phones come over and have perfect reception. Wish I had never switched to Cingular. Worse part is I talked my fiance' into switching to Cingular!
