Update to the no voice mail problem... .NOW I was instructed to set up my voice mail account again. This is fine and I wish someone (like the previous 4 people I spoke within the past two weeks) had said the same. I heard all manner of external reasons other than setting the account again! The representative said Alltel 903 area customers were moved to another voice mail system and not all morphed over correctly. Fine. They should keep their employees informed and trained. Thank you so much...

did you see that AT&T is buying cellular one and the transaction should be done by end of year? really, isn't that the way they operate.

Switched to Cingular from Alltel because of ongoing problems with Alltel billing and lack of service at Alltel offices (in Kilgore and Longview). Now I wish I had simply tolerated the poor customer support at Alltel because at least the phones could function. With Cingular I have extremely poor reception in all areas of Kilgore and surrounding areas. With Alltel my reception was always exceptional, and always sounded like a "land line" whether at home or roaming in the mountains of Arkansas or the deserts of New Mexico and Arizona. Back to Alltel for me when this contract is up.

Dropped calls, no service, customer service is unhelpful. Since the Alltel takeover customer service, prices, and reception have all gotten worse. I get sporadic texts and voice mail. I don't usually have missed calls listed when I get the voice mails. Most people don't leave a message, so there is no telling how many calls are not being received. I can stand right beside the Verizon store and watch my bars go up and down. One time I was not even able to make a call.

Sporadic reception in the house. Had a few different visit with Alltel and they had giood reception inside. Too bad the merger is "under way" If Verizon is now using Alltel towers, I can't tell. Great reception around town. No problem there.
