I get decent reception around the Killeen area, but there are some spotty areas around Ft. Hood. But with no raoming charges, I can use any network free of charge.

LOTS of dead zones on Fort Hood. Even where you have a full-strength signal, watch out! Despite having and using the "Sprint PCS Only" setting on my phone, it will still roam onto Alltel's network without any warning. Sprint customer service "professionals" refused to believe that this was possible (let alone that it happened three times) and then a supervisor named Diane had the gall to accuse me of pulling a scam when I told them about this, leaving me to pay over $50 in roaming charges for calls made while my phone indicated it was using a Sprint PCS signal. I somehow doubt I'm the only one this has happened to.
