Cell coverage has been bad. tower was located in a bad location that leaves most of the southside of town with little or no coverage. Provider has a hard time locating their own assets. Example in the past year the site has been struck by lightning twice knocking service out for several days. When the problem was brought to thier attention I was told that the closest cell tower was 25 miles away from my location. After going to the local electric company and finding the address and owner of the tower in question cell phone provider was again contacted and given this infomation. To their supprise it was their tower and they sent out a tech to repair the tower. Problems continued that even in locations that had a full service the tower would shut for 30-45 minutes at a time. Again had to go through the process of getting them to send a tech to repair. They have merged with AT&T since then and I have found that they have accually shut down some sites that would have increased our coverage. Reqested that they reactivate the sites they do not recognize those sites as their own and their maps do not show the tower sites that they recently sent a tech to repair. Again they have lost thier assets. Cingular has two customer call centers that I have been in contact with one is in El Paso, Texas and the other Lubbock, Texas. If you happen to get the El Paso call center be prepared to get frustrated with bad in formation and poor attitudes. I have found that I get more results and better service out of thier Lubbock office. Cell service has gotten better in the past couple of months around the Garner Park, ConCan, Utopia and Sabinal area. Just not getting very far in the Leakey area.
