Frequently have "network congestion" so text messages do not send. Calls drop often, and reception is extremely poor when inside of buildings. Would not reccomend keeping this service while in this town.

had the iphone with AT&T until yesterday. I couldn't place calls, text, data, etc. AT&T said it was my phone. Come to find out, they were having a network outage across the US. I was so sick of their crap I moved my 5 lines to Verizon. All were out of contract except my iphone. Verizon has a great network here (pre alltel) and has added new towers. Sounds great, and data speeds are fast. Customer Service is great too.

Switched to Verizon a week after it was available, and I have had good service all throughout Lubbock. Full bars outside, and buildings have 2-3 out of 4. Even in a store at the mall, where I had 0 bars, I was on the phone, and it sounded perfect.

Switched all my AT&T lines (5) to the new Verizon in our area. Works great! The internet is fast and covers alot more then AT&T did out here. I got 1 BlackBerry Curve, 2 LG enV3, 1 LG enV Touch, and a Nokia 7205 for the wife. We are happy so far! I think people should go check out and see what Verizon has to offer. The Friends and Family will be helpful. Now its time to get the rest of our family over and get the $25.00 reward thing!

I switched from AT&T to Boost. Good bars everywhere except at Texas Tech's building basements. AT&T definitely had way stronger service

Great reception everywhere I go in town. I always have all bars. Even in the basement of the buildings on the Texas Tech campus. I love taking advantage of EVDO in Lubbock finally! Verizon Wireless will officially be in Lubbock next month, and I think that Lubbockites will love it! :-)

T-Mobile has really improved over the years. Back in 2005, they had terrible coverage in north and east Lubbock, even having no service at times. Today, you will have great service in the all the city of Lubbock aside from basements and a few buildings. But if you're driving, you'll have at least 4 bars but usually 5, and with great call quality. But if you must have service in a basement or in a building that blocks signal, choose AT&T or alltel. They always have service in the places where T-Mobile signal degrades. The only thing that sucks about T-Mobile is that they have no 3G. The only carriers that offer high speed data in Lubbock is Alltel with EVDO and AT&T with 3G.

calls drop if on Loop 289. Can't get service at Ransom Canyon. Anytime a TV station is near, calls drop. Receive voice mails days later. Wouldn't recommend if travelling outside Lubbock

I very rarely drop calls, except in some of the shops in the mall. The service usually works well in the rural areas and small towns not served by the big carriers. The only complaint is the poor voice quality that I get sometimes, but this is mainly due to the "crystal clear digital" system that all the carriers use and the effects that call congestion have on it.

OK in Lubbock or any major Texas city. Just don't expect anything in between. Often calls answered on the first ring will show "missed call". Messages are often days late. I am actively looking for other service
