Switched to Verizon a week after it was available, and I have had good service all throughout Lubbock. Full bars outside, and buildings have 2-3 out of 4. Even in a store at the mall, where I had 0 bars, I was on the phone, and it sounded perfect.
Switched all my AT&T lines (5) to the new Verizon in our area. Works great! The internet is fast and covers alot more then AT&T did out here. I got 1 BlackBerry Curve, 2 LG enV3, 1 LG enV Touch, and a Nokia 7205 for the wife. We are happy so far! I think people should go check out and see what Verizon has to offer. The Friends and Family will be helpful. Now its time to get the rest of our family over and get the $25.00 reward thing!
Great reception everywhere I go in town. I always have all bars. Even in the basement of the buildings on the Texas Tech campus. I love taking advantage of EVDO in Lubbock finally! Verizon Wireless will officially be in Lubbock next month, and I think that Lubbockites will love it! :-)
T-Mobile has really improved over the years. Back in 2005, they had terrible coverage in north and east Lubbock, even having no service at times. Today, you will have great service in the all the city of Lubbock aside from basements and a few buildings. But if you're driving, you'll have at least 4 bars but usually 5, and with great call quality. But if you must have service in a basement or in a building that blocks signal, choose AT&T or alltel. They always have service in the places where T-Mobile signal degrades. The only thing that sucks about T-Mobile is that they have no 3G. The only carriers that offer high speed data in Lubbock is Alltel with EVDO and AT&T with 3G.
