With as much money as AT&T charges and our trying to interpret their confusing billing system, upgrade fees, advance monthly billing, outrageous concellation fees, etc, etc., we should be getting at least "good" reception. We're lucky to get two bars at our residence. Then to add injury... .., our calls get dropped. Sometimes I get dizzy walking around my house and yard, searching for the best spot. To save face, I try to blame it on the other service coming in. Carefully check all your statements and how much you get charged for upgrading (which is mindblogging that we should be charged for upgrading and are probably paying more for that upgrade anyways). At least become familiar with your charges. "Great reception" should be our reward to paying for that "presumed" service. To say the least, poor reception and dropped calls really tick me off. Especially since I'll probably never see a dropped charge in my statement. Thank you for listening. Can anyone please tell me if a phone company exists that gives as much as it receives, and not receives before it can give what it states it can.

I recently moved from Fort Worth to Mansfield. I had no problem with my phone in the FW area until I moved here. I can't receive or make calls as soon as I drive into Mansfield. My cellphone is basically useless in my own home. Texts messages won't send either. I would strongly advise against signing up for AT&T mobile service if you are moving to the area or thinking about switching providers. My parents both have Verizon and have no problem with their phones when they are in town.

Awful, Awful, Awful. I used to get excellent reception until I moved to Mansfield. Cingular say we live in a "Service Hole". I started with Sony Ericsson and switched to Nokia because Cingluar recommended it. Problem was 10 times worse. What's worse is that I'm no too far from a Cingular store. How can they be selling service in an area that doesn't have service?

I had an 2 old Nokia with tdma / cingular= worked great. Switched plans last week -still on cingualar but got 2 new phones with gsm. Samsung e317 - works good and a Motorola v551- terrible. Took it back within a week and got another mototrola V551- still terrible. The cheaper Samsung gets better reception than the more expensive motorola. Might change to cheaper one for me too. Cingular people are nice in Mansfield store but not sure about the reception issue.
