Prior to Cingular, I had SprintPCS. The reception at my house was good. More of my friends had switched to Cingular so I switched so we could talk for free. The reception at my house is terrible. I never receive most of my calls. Only when I travel to a good site do I get my voice mail alerts. The calls constantly drop and are garbled at best. Even in New Braunfels, the reception is not the greatest. When you travel around the loop from Hwy. 46 to Landa Street, the calls always drop. Should have stayed with SprintPCS.

I was told I needed to swith from AT&T to Cingular after the merger, and that I would need new phones. We made the switch and found that Cingular's GSM technology does not work inside like AT&T's TDMA technology. Then Cingular would only allow us to switch back to AT&T under a plan with no benefits like we had before, which calculates into about $300 a month in extra charges. Later I found that the sales people at the cellular dealer are telling their friends and families not to swith to the new Cingular service for the same reasons above. What poor planning and technological expertise Cingular must have not to be ready to flawlessly absorb AT&T's business, and what crummy p.r. not to let us have our old plan back. I hope the merger costs them financially.
