Service is lousy. Calls get dropped all the time, driving along 83 you can go from one bar to five bars for no reason. Not to mention that it is 2011, and there still is no 3G in this area with AT&T, even though virtually every other carrier has it. I called AT&T after having constant problems with the Mexican towers - I was at home and could not get the phone to stop connecting to Mexico. They said that they were not able to fix this, but they put some note in the system, and I have never connected to Mexico again. If you live in Starr County and want an iPhone, go with Sprint or Verizon instead. If I wasn't on a family plan based in another part of the country, AT&T would be long gone.

The service here at my house its very bad I don't get.o signal at most parts of my house, just on one stop it gets one bar of service. Also sometimes all the phone stop getting signal for a long time Like today. They should fix all the antennas so the phones can work.right

I been with ATT for more than 5 years ever since I upgraded to the iPhone 3GS last year I've had problems with signal, calls and POOr internet. We pay more than $250 monthly which half is because of the iPhone and been paying the unlimited Internet till now and we don't even get 3G in STARR county... I don't recomend ATT to people that want smartphones if u live Starr county... . Can't complain for the service it has from palmview to the rest of the valley...

At&t is really bad in Rio Grande City. When I had them, my phone was picking up the antenas from Mexico. I couldn't make calls, and when I received them, I was charged international roaming. I got a pretty big bill, and they said they would investigated and then came back and said the charges were valid. I switched to sprint, and now I got no problems.

Cingular GSM service in Rio Grande City, TX is bad. I have to drive down my street to get service. I recently called Cingular and was told that the nearest GSM tower was in the outskirts of RGC. I was told that RGC is still mostly TDMA, however Cingular in RGC sold me a GSM phone / service. I have decided to switch over to their GAIT plan which uses TDMA and GSM for better coverage. The rep. from Cingular was basically telling me not to go with GAIT because it was less minutes for the money, my response being who cares about the minutes. I have all these GSM minutes and can't use them cause of no service. The rep wasnt to happy to hear that and then changed her mind and advised me about changing over to GAIT.
