I have had Sprint service since BEFORE digital, and over the years of my travels all over Texas it was really the only choice for great coverage. That may no longer be true now (2012) but I would have to say that in all those years I have never experienced a dropped call.

Fredericksburg Rd. / IH 410, San Antonio, TX 78201 Wed Jul 13, 2011

We have very few dropped calls. However, I don't get voicemail messages for at least 3 hours to 45 days. Since I'm dependent on my phone for my job this can be very very bad. I've not gotten important messages, then suddenly I'll have over 50 voicemails. Texting is a PITA. It only works about 30% of the time. I don't get responses and look to find that the texts have never been sent... locked in my outbox. I have the same problem getting texts taht I do with voicemails. Today I got 90 texts, some from December 2010! That is just wrong. Sprint says "oh well". They are not helpful at all with customer service. I can't wait to get out of this contract. Have had them since 1995 and was always happy till the last 18 months. My download speeds are about 3KB per hour. Most websites never load. I just have given up.

I believe that the area between Northwest Vista College and UTSA as well anything on the "other" side of Leon Valley heading for Loop 1604 is a dead area for anything. Radio reception is HORRIBLE out here and you probably need cable to watch any TV out here. Sorry this is off subject. But after reading these posts I believe you guys about cell phone reception. I have a friend of mine who says he knows people a few seconds from where I'm at and they have issues with both radio and cell phone reception

My phone works great everywhere I go except in my building at work. The battery drains by mid-afternoon because the device is searching for signal all day. FRUSTRATING! esp since this problem was noted for this area FOUR years ago - see above! That wasn't my comment, but it's still true! Need more signal in this area.

I have 2 phones on 2 different carriers(Htc hero / sprint and blackberry / ATT). Sprint has 100% better reception than ATT. From inside South texas deer blinds near Freer and Rockport TX to South Padre, my ATT friends are always asking to use my Sprint phone(past 8 years). It is frustrating when I can't get a signal inside buildings with ATT at 281 / Bitters, Fredricskburg road, 151 / 1604 but and I switch to my spriint phone and it works. The Verizon ads are dead on about ATT coverage maps.

I have had two Sprint PCS wireless Broadband cards for more than two years and the service is so bad that a normal download for me is at about 7 to 10 K, yes single digit K. The only reason I have these cards is that they are paid for by my company but I can't put up with the poor service anymore. I have contacted Sprint many times over the last two years and they didn't care to do anything for me. It will be better if I spend my own money on something that might work than put up with this lousey service any longer. It's a shame I live in the country and can't get wireline service!

For four years now, my original LG Sprint phone has no reception within my home. At most one bar then drops off. Worked with Sprint to correct this problem after trying two Arwave units, neither of these devices worked within the home. The tower is only one mile away, yet I have to leave the house to receive reception. Not sure what to do next.

We have been Sprint customers for years. Now, after one (1) year spent trying to get reception at my home, we are actively searching for a new carrier. We get zero reception at our home. We have to drive a mile to get enough bars to make a call! Does anyone have a service that covers the NE area? Camelot, Windcrest, Walzem, etc? I find it absurd to be paying Sprint when there's no coverage at home. We have children all over the world and need the added benefit of a cell phone. Can someone help us..please?!

We have Sprint and basically have no reception in Anaqua Springs Ranch. Occasionally there is one bar and a text message will come through, but unless you are at the very top of a hill in the neighborhood... ... no service for sprint... and even the roaming ?Verison is not usable. Any suggestions for a cell service out in this area? I really think it's due to lack of towers in this vacinity, but I would be happy to switch to another company if they could give me even mediocre service rather than "none" from Sprint.

I have switched cell phone carriers started out with Sprint the reception was very poor. The bill kept going higher its was like the more I talked I was charged for anything. Next I switched to Cingular or now AT&T which was the worst mistake ever so many dropped calls, I would not receive text messages, miss calls, and the cell phone had to replace it four times stayed as a loyal customer of course to avoid paying the switching fees I waited for the contract to be over and cut them off. You call them though to confirm because I had to call several times to cancel and they would tell me ok and then the next mo I would get another bill tell them to tell you when the billing cycle ends. Now I'm with T-Mobile and has been the best decision since then I have gone to canada and it worked out there with no worries since staying in contact with my family is a plus while I was away. I also had bought a backup prepaid cell phone for backup and that also worked fine in canada called the family and was amazed with the reception and clarity on the prepaid cell phone.

Had been a long-time and satisfied Sprint customer, all over the city, since moving to San Antonio 8 years ago. However, the past 3-4 months, way too many dropped calls, mostly north side, and regularly placed on analog roam in the area around Blanco / Huebner / Bitters. Thought it might be temporary, but recently gave up and switched to T-Mobile. T-Mobile's service in the 1st month in the same areas has been excellent, very strong, clear signal and no dropped calls.

Never have problems with Sprint. Reception rarely drops under 4 bars and 80% of the time I've got 5. Dropped calls are usually on the other end. I notice newer Sprint customers have alot of problems. Are newer customers on newer more unreliable frequencies? I've been with Sprint for 8 years and I'm not switching anytime soon.

I've used Sprint since the summer of 1995. I've never had issues with Sprint's network. I can't rememeber the last time I've had a dropped call. I travel all over Texas and don't have any complains. My brother uses and works for Cingular, mother uses T-Mobile and father uses Verizon for work, and all of them constantly complain about their service or customer service.

I have had Sprint a little over 2 yrs and they suck. I will have quite a few dropped calls, and since my contract was up and I saw I had an outrageous bill I called customer service. Their service is terrible everyone was rude. Someone there changed my plan without my consent, which made me charge more on my acct, the rep told me I could get a free phone but never told me it would add another line which will renew a 2yr contract so now if I cancel I have to pay a 200 dollar early term agreement. I have complained to them and got nothing but rude service from the customer service dept and supervisors. SPRINT SUCKS!

I had been with Sprint for 4 years on my son's account and on July 20, 2006 we decided to get a phone under our own name and I can't tell you what a nightmare it has been the past 12 days. In the past, I never had a dropped call in 4 years (maybe 2 at the most) and was using my cell phone as my ONLY phone, my home phone, calling on it day and night. Since signing up under my own name on July 20, I have had 5 different phones and not one of them could hold a call. Everyone was dropped and if it did stay connected long enough to complain to customer service, it would cut in and out so bad I couldn't even argue the point with them or explain what was going on. They were rude and not helpful AT ALL. Plus they charged me 67.00 for a 29.99 monthly plan on August 8 and I haven't even been with them 2 weeks! I would NOT recommend Sprint if you live in my area and if you plan on using your cell phone in your home.

I've been a Sprint customer for several years now (personal and work). Over that time I've used an old basic Nokia candy bar, the original Motorola clam, a Samsung A460, and currently a Samsung A620. I live in New Braunfels, work at Lackland AFB, and travel across the US for business, and regardless of where I am or which phone I've used, SPRINT SUCKS! With up to 3 lines on contract at any given time, I expected more. The contract ends shortly and so will our relationship! I'd rather return to smoke signals than to endure the endless dropped calls, spotty service, or horrible roaming coverage any more.

Sprint has a tower antenna located at SR 211 and Potranco which is only 2 miles away and the reception in this area is just plain pathetic. Sprint PCS staffers don't care and you are basically screwed with terrible service until you can dump them. I have spoken with neighbors who have ther same problem with Sprint and the consensus is that they are real losers. They said they sent a team to fix the problem but the result was nothing.

Very good reception. The key to quality cell phone service is having a new phone (<1yr) and keeping the firmware updated (every 3 mos). It's a hassle, but it keeps me problem free. The signal is very strong and I rarely drop calls. Sprint is generally very good in major cities, but tends to fade quickly in the country.

Good reception with Sprint here, usually two bar inside the apartments, 3 to 4 bars when outside. The Sprint network itself has been reliable, however, the same cannot be said for Sprint customer service on the phone OR when you venture into one of the local Sprint stores. When recently upgrading my phones, a ran into the usual incompetence at my nearby Sprint store. Finding competent employees here in San Antonio is always a challenge, especially given the slow-wittedness of the predominant population here, but the twit who programmed my phones managed to not program the second phone and place me on the wrong plan. And after spending nearly $600 she didn't even thank me. Instead, I had to call Sprint to learn how to program my second phone and then correct my calling plan. I had to call three times before I spoke to someone who spoke clear English and could understand how to resolve my problem. Customer disservice seems to be Sprint's forte and it is sad that one has to pay close attention to ensure everything is done correctly. Imagine the thousands who blindly trust Sprint PCS reps both in-store and on the phone... customers who must be getting overcharged grossly! For use in and around San Antonio, Sprint works relatively well. But be warned, educate yourself before you rely on store staff and double-check their work BEFORE you leave the store. Know your plan and the options you're choosing. These employees seem to be educated to do one thing: sell you the most services at the highest prices and get you out of the store as quickly as possible. And here, in San Antonio, the indigenous dimwits will do just that!

If you are planning on using your phone in the Shenandoah subdivision, you may be in for a disappointment. In the eastern side of the subdivision (Big Meadows, Goshen Pass, Ramsgate), there is virtually no signal; I literally could not activate my phone at first because it kept saying "No Service." You are lucky to get one bar on a good day, and at least half of the time there are no bars at all. The closer you get to I-10, the better the reception becomes; I noticed the signal jumped to full strength in the northwest corner of Shenandoah and all along the interstate. However once you move about a block (if that) away from the interstate, you enter a black hole. I'm having to return my phone after a week because of this; I'll try Verizon next to see if it's any stronger.
