Connection up and down Broadway is fine, but I live in an old brick house and reception indoors is pathetic. Almost guaranteed that a call over 5mins will drop. I also get the digital skips during any conversation, regardless of signal, so that I have to ask people to repeat themselves often. Cingular's customer service reps have been friendly but reception quality in my house and the skipping problem make me ready to try something else.
My phone can go up to seven bars. 9 times out of 10 there are 6 to 7 bars. The only bad thing about this phone is you have to hold the phone on the sides. I use tracfone which gets the signal reception from cigular.
I switched from Nextel to T-Mobile about a year ago. With Nextel, I never knew what a dropped call was (it just never happened). Now, with T-Mobile, I get constant dropped calls. T-Mobile customer service blames it on Motorola (saying that frequent dropped calls is a "known issue" with the V-600), but in looking at other reviews on this website, I see that many T-Mobile customers are complaining about dropped calls and it doesn't appear to matter what kind of phone they have.
My cell phone does not work in my condo. My service with Cingular is horrible, almost everywhere. I travel some and have intermittent reception everywhere I go, from FL to AK.
Usually get two bars or less... often calls are dropped and get no service on both phone and direct-connect... on direct-connect, msg usally stated as "user unavailable"... Nextel assures me that coverage is great here, but experience is not so great... talked to other people about their service in our neighborhood, the also experience the same thing...
Sprint has a tower antenna located at SR 211 and Potranco which is only 2 miles away and the reception in this area is just plain pathetic. Sprint PCS staffers don't care and you are basically screwed with terrible service until you can dump them. I have spoken with neighbors who have ther same problem with Sprint and the consensus is that they are real losers. They said they sent a team to fix the problem but the result was nothing.
Very good reception. The key to quality cell phone service is having a new phone (<1yr) and keeping the firmware updated (every 3 mos). It's a hassle, but it keeps me problem free. The signal is very strong and I rarely drop calls. Sprint is generally very good in major cities, but tends to fade quickly in the country.
