Switched to Cingular after Voicestream became T-Mobile and they changed my plan on me (even though they claim they did not). Might be regretting the change now as Cingular service is horrible no matter where I am. First phone was a Motorola V220 and reception and clarity were incredibly bad. Read reviews and this phone was rated poor, so spent the money and got an LG 1400 after reading reviews that said it was a good phone. It hasn't helped any. Reception on Cingular is poor all the time, even though the phone shows a full 5 bars. It is hard to understand the person I am talking to because their voice sounds like it fades in and out with a weird digital interference sound. I can be right smack in town, with full bar reception and simply turn my head and lose connection. I constantly have to ask people to repeat what they are saying because they can't be understood well due to their voice dropping out or fading. I get dropped calls constantly and a lot of my calls are to my wife, also using an LG 1400 phone on Cingular. It is not uncommon for us to have to call each other back and forth 2-3 or more times just to have one conversation of several minutes. Another thing that is highly annoying is that Cingular phones interfere with any radio or speakers. If you have your computer sound on, or stereo on, the phone causes loud buzzing noises any time it sends or receives. I have come to recognize certain buzzing patterns and can actually answer my phone before it ever rings. We literally have to shut off all radios and stereos any time we use the phones in our home. Unfortunately, I am stuck with a 2 year contract with this crappy service and the only way out is to pay their fee. I'm sorry I went to Cingular and I would never recommend them to anyone.

I had been with Sprint for 4 years on my son's account and on July 20, 2006 we decided to get a phone under our own name and I can't tell you what a nightmare it has been the past 12 days. In the past, I never had a dropped call in 4 years (maybe 2 at the most) and was using my cell phone as my ONLY phone, my home phone, calling on it day and night. Since signing up under my own name on July 20, I have had 5 different phones and not one of them could hold a call. Everyone was dropped and if it did stay connected long enough to complain to customer service, it would cut in and out so bad I couldn't even argue the point with them or explain what was going on. They were rude and not helpful AT ALL. Plus they charged me 67.00 for a 29.99 monthly plan on August 8 and I haven't even been with them 2 weeks! I would NOT recommend Sprint if you live in my area and if you plan on using your cell phone in your home.

I have been with T-Mobile for several years and proud. Use to have the V66 but it did not work in the St. Philips buildings or on the military bases. Have the V300 now and they work everywhere. Cingular will never have its act together. Even former ATT customers are getting poor agreements from Cingular. Sprint is to risky. An Alltel is all the way at Marble Falls, TX to serve San Antonio and Austin consumers. And Verizon is selling out your cell phone numbers to telemarkets. BECAREFUL OUT THERE.

Virgin mobile has been for me the best phone ever to have invested my money on. I have been with Cingular would not recommend it to anyone, Sprint also another bad company to deal with to many hassles to cut services a waste of time and money. T-Mobile thats a great company kinda expensive but when you have a problem with dicontinuing receiving text msg not good in service. I go sightseeing a lot in the country and virgin mobile has a great reception out of the rest.

I work at the Texas Research Park and I get 0 reception inside the building. In order for me to get any service at all I have to go stand in the parking lot. I have spoken with Verizon extensively and they stated that they would let me out of my contract without penalty, but I assume that is more due to the fact that everytime that I talk on the phone at work they are having to pay Sprint for my connection (the Sprint tower is about 300m away from the building).

I've used Sprint since the summer of 1995. I've never had issues with Sprint's network. I can't rememeber the last time I've had a dropped call. I travel all over Texas and don't have any complains. My brother uses and works for Cingular, mother uses T-Mobile and father uses Verizon for work, and all of them constantly complain about their service or customer service.

This is one place where you can expect to drop a call, especially the farther down outside of Potranco you go. There is one place in particular that is after the first set of flashing lights, right down that hill it is guaranteed to drop your call.
