Been with AT&T for several years with excellent signal and reception. Very old, but not cheap phone, and still works wonders. Voice, text, never missed a call, and voice quality is excellent. Yes, more expensive, but when you want to count on your phone, you get what you pay for! I have tried Virgin Mobil, Sprint, and T-Mobile at the same location. All of these are a joke this far out of town compared to AT&T. AT&T maps do not even show good signal coverage for me and still works great!

I consistently get strong signals from USCC's towers all around town. I even get one or two bars inside buildings where you generally get zilch from the GSM providers. If you drive around town, theirs are the gigantic 200 foot tall 4-legged ones that look like oil derricks, like the one at Barnet and Seymour Hwy. and the one near Lake Wichita dam. They don't use the monopole towers like other carriers.

This Samsung is like all the others. Almost perfect in reception and the best phone I've ever had. A huge improvement over the Verizon / Lg phone I used to have. Never once heard of anyone having a problem with a Samsung, unless if its the users fault. I used to work for a cell phone company and this is the best phone, and service, Im extremely satisfied.

I am very impressed with the Sprint network. Its so much better than Verizon and other companies inside the buildings. All my friends loose their signal inside the buildings except me. Very very good, I highly recommend!

I live near Burkburnett Rd, by Sheppard AFB. I get full bars all around my house and the base. Reception is excellent. Inside my work building downtown, I get maybe 2-3 bars, but still works good. I don't travel much into rural areas, so I can't comment on rural coverage. T-Mobile coverage has been very good in Wichita Falls,TX. Only a few minor deadspots here and there.

I recently switched from T-Mobile because of their service to the south west part of town is margional to non-existent. My new provider, SprintPCS, seems thus far to not only provide reliable service but also Sprint provides much better call quality than my previous provider. Calls to my phone here at home actually ring through and that is something new for me. The Sanyo SCP-3811, even though it is a basic one, works well. We need to remember that phones work only as good as the network on which it operates.

I was a former AT&T customer and switched to Cingular a month ago. I have better reception than before. In my home office, I formerly had 1 bar and had to stand next to a window to talk with a person on the phone. With Cingular Orange, I have 4-5 bars and I no longer have to leave my chair to talk to people( although I stillfind myself pacing around the house on a call out of habit).

Had to take the phone back. Terrible dependability, esp inside at my house. Missed calls while driving and even in the mall, the bars would fluctuate wildly. Switched to the Gravity2 and had the same problem, even after changing out SimCard. Now am back to my old 490 and am glad it at least works reliably. What is up with the 3G and the "smart phone" technology? My old dinosaur out performs both of the newer phones.
