Advertised as wortking in my area, which is untrue. I spent $235 in roaming charges and fees over an almost 3 month period with the assurance that the phone would work without Roaming on my plan. Cricket support had me change settings, update PRLs, change PRLs manually, change my number to a new local #, change my billing address. None worked. I was very happy with them in Ohio, but I am furious about how they have treated me here in Logan.
This is the best provider in the area. I can say this because of friends and family that have Sprint, Alltell, T-mobile, and AT&T. I consistantly have better service than all of them not to mention if we travel anywhere. I'm the last to lost service and the first to get it back.
I have Verizon and it SUCKS! I hate it! For every 5 minutes I am on the phone I will drop the call.. I lived on campus last year at utah state and did not have as many problems, but down here in the black hole it sucks! I am switching to T-Mobile so I hope its better..
When you are at the bottom of the hill below utah state, the reception can be a little weak, but I have been throughout the cache valley with my all-digital phone, and have very rarely had dropped calls, I even got reception on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, one of the most remote areas in the nation. I have been with Verizon for many years, and even though the analog network is being dismantled in 2008, they are constatly updating the network, and we now have EV-DO which is a boon for me
Cingular or AT&T or whatever sucks it keeps getting worse I am on the 3rd phone in one year and the reception is still spotty it goes from no bars to full bars and back to zero especially anywhere close to center street and main east or west side. It constantly drops calls anywhere in the valley. Don't sign a contract with this crappy service non-provider
T-Mobile has very good reception throughout Cache Valley. Even in Sardine Canyon along Hwy. 89 / 91 between Brigham City and Logan I have at least 4 bars, usually 5, the entire way. Coverage is also very good on campus. Granted, there are a few places -- like in the basement of Old Main -- where I don't have service, but other than that I am very satisfied with the coverage. I dropped maybe two or three calls during the year, which is not too bad considering how many calls I made. It was no big deal, though. I just called the person back and it worked fine that time. I called Customer Service afterwards and they apologized and gave me 50 bonus minutes. In addition to the coverage, I am also generally satisfied with my T-Mobile plan. I have 1500 minutes, 400 text messages, and 400 picture messages all for $45 per month + tax. The only plan that is even comparable to this in terms of price / features / value would be Sprint's SERO plan. Other than that, T-Mobile blows other carrier's plans out of the water. I definitely recommend T-Mobile. You get a good value for your money: They have excellent customer service, nice phones, very good plans with plenty of minutes, and very good coverage. They also offer 1-year contracts. WARNING! PLEASE ABSOLUTELY AVOID AT&T / CINGULAR! Apart from their high prices and poor service, they have terrible coverage at Utah State! With T-Mobile, I had 6 of 6 bars in my apartment on campus and I could talk anywhere, while friends with Cingular had only 1 bar and couldn't even place or receive calls inside without standing against the windows or leaving the building.
I've had T-Mobile for two years now and I've never had a dropped call and I get great reception everywhere, except in the deep cement basement where I work.
