I get bars almost always at home and in college but the problem is bad call quality. The people I talk to don't hear me well. It sounds as if I'm speaking a few meters away from the phone. And whenever I call my home, the call is always dropped! Damn this phone! I'm switching to Virgin MObile which is a lot cheaper and seems to have better coverage (because it has sprint's network and my brother has Sprint network which has never shown a problem at all!)

Awesome coverage, never any dropped calls unless I'm in buildings that make every cell phone lose reception (like the JFSB on the BYU Campus =P).

Dropped calls maybe once or twice a month, but reception is good around south of BYU and at BYU. Phone calls are clear and reception is almost always five bars.

I rarely get reception in my home. If I am lucky enough to even get a call through it is certainly dropped. Very frustrating

T-Mobile has been great for reception. We even live in a basement apartment, and are happy we never have to go outside to talk like some of our friends. Excellent coverage; very rarely are any calls dropped (it's usually the other person's fault).

Just switched to Cingular from Verizon. Had perfect reception all the time with Verizon, can't remember a single dropped call. Switched cause Cingular was a bit cheaper but haven't been impressed with it: Dropped calls, voice fluctuation, static. Frequently I have to repeat dial cause first calls don't seem to want to go through, I guess they want to make sure that I'm commited to making the call. Anyway, I'm still within my thirty days, I'm switchin back.

While I rarely have full "bars" I've never dropped a call at home and I don't have a land line. In fact, I haven't had any problems anywhere in Utah County including Springville where my old AT&T service would vanish completely. At work, in a large steel building, I will experience an occassional drop, but that's to be expected.

Sprint customer service has billed me twice for things I didn't want. They offered me free web for a month and before the month was over I called to cancel. They didn't cancel it and it showed up on my next bill. Even when I called to complain they tried to upgrade my plan! Manipulative and dirty.

I get more calls drop on Cingular than I get completed. They have sent me 7 phones now because they always tell me that their network is good and I must have a bad phone. I had 3 Motorola MPx220's, 3 Audiovox 5600's, and 1 HP iPAQ 6515. Service is lousy on all of them. Conversations are always garbled.

A virtual black hole in the neighborhood surrounding the old K-96 / KOVO radio towers. There is a cell tower less than 1 / 2 mile away... on the other side of the freeway (Provo Town Centre). But the presence of Utah Power's huge power transmission lines makes this area of Provo pretty much unusable when it comes to a stable cellular phone connection... no matter what your carrier. Calls will drop without any warning; network failures... . mobile-to-mobile calls are especially suspectible to dropping out.

I get very good reception throughout the American Fork / Orem / Provo area. I haven't hit any bad pockets yet. The receiption in Springville isn't as high (probably 2-3); but I still was able to use my phone without any problems. My older Nokia phone, however, didn't get a signal at all. My Kyocera Slider phone and Cricket plan does have digital roaming; so there are times that it does indicate that it is in roaming mode. So, when I am in bad pockets, it might be picking up from another company's tower? I've been very happy with my phone and with the wireless service.

I get great reception just south of BYU campus. Most of my roommates and neighbors have to leave the apartment just to have a conversation. I can almost always talk when in my apartment. I get near perfect reception on campus and often have bars in buildings when others don't.

Although I regularly get 4 to 5 bars on the phone, once I dial and start talking, this will drop down to 2 or 3 bars. Frequently calls are dropped or broken up. Cingular customer service is very rude and unhelpful generally. One rep told my brother in law that although they have 1 / 3 of all their towers down for maintenance at any given time, their coverage is still 100%, which just isn't true in practice. Cingular's customer service feels that that if something is wrong it must be the customer's fault.

Nextel reception is amazing. It works in the canyon, at Sundance you name. However, they charge way too much for service. If you go over your minutes they will charge you at least twice as much as AT&T and Verizon. If you need reception in tough to get places this is your company but if you think the great reception is cheap you are wrong. Overall, great reception, super expensive service.

Flaky reception outside near buildings or houses. Although perfect when you're driving open roads. Extremely poor reception indoors, regardless of whether you're near a window or not. Missed and dropped calls, cutouts. Sometimes it will seem to work fine, but no overall dependability. The old TDMA network works much better however. I'm almost out of my contract, YESSS! ~

T-mobile reception is average around Provo. Seems better than my AT&T reception, which was unforgivable. I wonder what Cingular is like... I need a GSM service to go with my hybrid pda phone.

I never loose a call no matter what phone I am using with Verizon. Customer service is outstanding, I never wait on hold to talk to someone. Unfortunately I have to switch carriers to get more minutes because Verizon is just too expensive to get more minutes.
