Have to go outside to talk on the phone and then only 1 bar.

Reception in Bluffdale sucks. Closest site is 5-miles away in any direction... at&t, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint all have problems down here...

Calls often drop. I can't get highspeed data services (evdo) out here either. Most times I can't even get dialup data services.

Switched to Sprint from Verizon to get less expensive service and affordable unlimited data service for the Treo. I would agree with others that Verizon seems to provide better coverage in the Salt Lake valley. Also, the sound quality of the Verizon network seems better, I'm sad to say.

Qwest used to offer pretty good coverage in the area (inlcuding Cottonwood Canyons, where I found them only slightly below AT&T for holding and re-aquiring signal) but since they hooked up with Sprint I've noticed a marked decline in quality. A co-worker commented his work phone (Sprint) does not work as well in the far southwest area as his personal Cricket did. My wife travels from Herriman to downtown Salt Lake via Bangerter Hwy. and I-15 in the morning and U201-U111 returning in the afternoon. Coverage on the major roads is usually pretty decent with exception at 700 W. Bangerter Hwy near the RR overpass. She used to only drop calls south of Magna intermittantly and always near Trans-Jordan Landfill. She now frequently (on the Qwest/Sprint network) drops calls on U201 near Magna. Qwest claims Sprint is beefing up in the area to correct the bad spots but I don't know if we will stick it out or switch.
