I always have zero or 1 bar, whether I'm inside or out. Very broken up, lots of static, calls drop every time. When people send me text messages, I usually only receive them about half the time. Even after I go to an area with good reception, my messages (voice and text) still don't come through.

I've never really had trouble with Verizon and I don't know why others have had issues with them in the valley. Occasionally I'll lose some bars the further away from the city I go, but all in all I can make calls where I want when I want in the Salt Lake Valley and take no thought if the call will go through or drop. If a call does drop its usually on the other side of the conversation that it does. I'm very satisfied with their coverage and the performance of my phone. Now if only they weren't so darn expensive! Oh well I guess I can't have it all.

I am a real estate agent in SLC and I have a BlackBerry curve with Verizon that is very spotty. it will show 4 bars of reception and not connect for calls. all over the valley is moderate, but at my home in holladay I get 4 bars standing outside, and go to extended network in my house with NO DATA! Verizon needs to update their technology considering not everyone is always outside.

Doesn't get reception at my cube: goes to voicemail and then get a ring and must go to window. Strangely enough, at another indoor location at my work, I get reception good enough for talking, if you stand in the right spot. In this location coworkers with T-Mobile or ATT get good reception (4 or 5 bars), and can answer calls from their desks.

Zero to two bars, most of the time 1 bar. Numerous dropped calls, poor reception, missed calls (straight to voicemail), up to about 1 minute lag time between dialing and call actually going out, occasionally no service, phone pretty much useless inside. Verizon told me that all the lead paint in my old house was responsible! When I remarked that the service is just as crappy outside - told me that other homes were blocking the reception (!?). When asked if anyone else had complained - said no reports of bad service. Dropped call - Verizon did not call me back, even though I instructed operator to do so. Incredibly frustrating - renewed our 2 year contract prior to moving - bad move... had to get a Skype VOIP line.

I have been very upset with Verizon for there service with me. I was having issue with my reception and they told me to come in and update my software and that woul fix the problem. When I did that there was a 1% chance that my phone would fry and I would lose all my information. Well I was in that 1% that it happened to and the Girl behind the counter just kind of laughed and said sorry it fried, and said but here is a new phone (which was the same phone) and we are sorry. I lost all my phone numbers and everything. I told them they should have given me a different phone to fix the reception but that didn't happen, and I still have horrible reception. I have to go out side of my house to make a call. I would definetly not recommend Verizon.

I had Cingular and basically had 1 bar half the time, the other half I had none. I literally was cut of about 50% of calls after waiting 10 mins to be able to make a call. I got out of the early termination fee by comlaining to the federal watchdog and went with Verizon. Im so happy I did, I cal make call immediately and never loose them. Its only 2 bars most iof the time, but its never blank. If you're in Sugarhouse with Cingular, write in and complain, get out of the termination fee and go get Verizon.

My phone works OK in the University of Utah Health Sciences Campus and also in Research Park, but keeps switching back and forth between Analog and Digital modes right around Sunnyside. Often, it shows 2 bars in digital mode, but the outgoing calls seem to fail initially in digital mode, only to have the phone automatically switche to analogand dialing out. Analog works perfectly, and I wouldn't complain, except that it drains the battery very fast every time this happens. Updating the roaming lists by dialing *228 as per instructions from Verizon, and trying out the various network options on the phone ('Automatic A,' 'Automatic B' and 'Home only') haven't solved this problem in almost 2 years.

This is a major reception hole for most carriers--have canceled two services--all my friends and neighbors cannot get service here Verizon is the only carrier that consistently works--if you need service in this area go with Verizon--and if you need to get out of a contract have you carrier send someone out to test the service and you'll get out--insist on it!

Can't use the phone in my bedroom it goes to exteneded network, walk into my living room and get about 3 bars. I have found that Verizon is very spotty in the SLC area, if I go up to Primary Childrens Hospital I cannot get any signal and am in roam... not a very good area for Verizon.. Thankfully my contract is up and can go to another carrier

I've tried Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and Cricket in the Salt Lake Valley, and must say that Verizon has the most reliable service from the ones I've tried. I have no dropped calls and get great service nearly everywhere I go. I'd strongly recomend Verizon in the Salt Lake Valley (they actually have the largest Digital Network in Utah)
