Just reading over these reviews, it seems that Cingular has been the blunt of a lot of criticism. I have had Cingular for over a year now and absolutely love it. I had Verizon before. I honesty haven't experienced any of these things that other people are saying about dropped calls etc... Cell reception is only 50% the provider. The other half is the phone itself. If you have a good phone, you should have no problems. I recommend Siemens / Benq for reception quality, although you'll have to get these phones from Ebay or someplace cause Cingular doesn't carry them I'm a big fan of Cingular. Don't be swayed by biased opinion.

When in the basement of the house the calls will drop. The signal is very weak even upstairs. T-Mobile needs another tower in this area.

Cingular sucks... plain and simple. They also keep lying to me on the phone as I have been billed several times for a contract I don't have. Bad service, bad reception, bad provider.

Cingular GSM is a total waste of money of junk in Utah. Single cylces and down constantly and often drops off all together. Switched to T-Mobile and service is great now. Have yet to find a dead spot with T-mobie. I would never recommend Cingular to even my worst enemy!

Sprint coverage is really bad on 3300 South on the east side and in general it getting worse around the SLC valley. It always drops as I approach highland drive. Cell service at my house in the area is only 1 bar. I believe Sprint coverage is inversely proportional to their customer service wait time, the worse the coverage gets, the longer I wait on hold to speak to their customer dis-service rep in India.

T-Mobile's service in the last year-year and a half has improved quite a bit in the Salt Lake Valley. I am happy with my service. thanks,

My phone works OK in the University of Utah Health Sciences Campus and also in Research Park, but keeps switching back and forth between Analog and Digital modes right around Sunnyside. Often, it shows 2 bars in digital mode, but the outgoing calls seem to fail initially in digital mode, only to have the phone automatically switche to analogand dialing out. Analog works perfectly, and I wouldn't complain, except that it drains the battery very fast every time this happens. Updating the roaming lists by dialing *228 as per instructions from Verizon, and trying out the various network options on the phone ('Automatic A,' 'Automatic B' and 'Home only') haven't solved this problem in almost 2 years.
