Very Poor! Numerous dropped calls

I used to have Verizon, and my reception was fine (around 600 S. and 700 E.) until I moved to West Temple and 1000 S. area. Then I dropped calls like crazy and couldn't hold normal conversations. It drove me crazy, so I switched to T-Mobile... SAME PROBLEM... I checked the coverage area maps and it looks like just the block where I live is a little weaker area, and once you throw in buildings, I get one little bar if I am lucky. Sometimes if I have to call somebody and I am on my way home, I sit in the car and finish the call before I go inside, since I know I'll just lose them when I do. My phone does have a little weaker reception than most phones, as my friends with Verizon and T-Mobile sometimes get one more bar than me on their phones. However, most of my T-Mobile friends have to go outside to take calls when they are visiting. My roommate has Sprint and she has never had a problem with coverage at our house. Also, when I am at 1900 S. and 1200 E. area, I also have poor T-Mobile reception. But, my Verizon friends have bad reception at my house and over in the Sugarhouse area, so I don't know what the answer is. The other carriers have a lot of problems too...

T-Mobile's service in the last year-year and a half has improved quite a bit in the Salt Lake Valley. I am happy with my service. thanks,

I get great reception here. once in a GREAT while a call is dropped. Some of the people I talk with on the phone say the reception is muffled. This could be their phone model though, because not all of the people I call say this happens. but all around... I have had no problems with At&t. and I travel extensively.

I'm not a big phone user so got the cheapest nationwide plan possible, planning to use the phone primarily for free long distance to talk with the folks once a month. But my calls get dropped every 15 minutes or so, regardless of closeness to interference sources, etc. Matter of fact they get dropped anywhere in town. Worked well in DC, though. But I don't live there.

Purchased cell phone for girlfriend with warranty. Manager of Cricket store on 700 East and 2100 South said he didn't have time for me. He was busy talking to friend about Jazz game. Good thing no contract Thanks T-mobile

Cricket is the worst cell phone servie I've ever had. "unlimited dropped calls" is the norm. Their employees at their retail stores are rude and unfriendly. I'm going back to t-mobile.

Reception is really good but only problem comes when going through the basement elevator.

Utah has crappy cell phone reception.

Nearly all service providers have poor reception in this area. Sprint has improved, but only slightly. If you are moving here, don't plan on using your mobile phone much.

Can't use phone in my home.

No reception in my home. I live within 2 miles of downtown Salt Lake City. Need to drive down to 13th Avenue or lower for signal strong enough to place or get a call. I think Sony Ericson T68i phone may be part of the problem? However, other T-Mobile users unable to use their phones in or near my home.

I have never had less than one bar (with either one of my phones). I have never had a call dropped (and I drive ALL OVER THE VALLEY), never missed a call due to lack of service. Call quality is clear and perfect, I could not be happier. Better than any of my friends' other service providers (Verizon comes close, Sprint and T-Mobile both are awful compared to AT&T). Cannot recomend enough!

Always dropping calls and not getting emails.

AT&T coverage has been bad for 1 1 / 2 years I've had it here. We've given up reporting the dropped and failed call attempts and use internet calls on the computer when we are at home in this neighborhood.

I have 4 different spots in my 800 sq. ft. apartment that, once entered, will disconnect my call. At work on the east side, random dropping of calls.

There is a dead spot in our area. What are the chances of Cingular adding a new cell phone tower somewhere around Calif. Ave. and Redwood Road?

Can't use the phone in my bedroom it goes to exteneded network, walk into my living room and get about 3 bars. I have found that Verizon is very spotty in the SLC area, if I go up to Primary Childrens Hospital I cannot get any signal and am in roam... not a very good area for Verizon.. Thankfully my contract is up and can go to another carrier

Signal ranges from none to barely a signal. If the phone rings don't bother trying to answer it. You might be able to hear the other party in bits and pieces and they won't be able to hear you.

Reception is BAD
