My husband and I live in Washington Utah, about three miles away from St. George. We have a Tracfone that we bought at a Kmart store in Simi Valley CA two years ago. Don't think they sell them here. We get good reception in towns; Hurricane, Washington, St. George, Cedar City, Pine Valley in town but not up in the camping areas. Even in the town of Escalante but not in high elevations, then we get dropped. We were looking for a service that won't drop us while were up in Zion and higher elevations. I looked online and don't think they sell Tracfone in Utah, maybe only from their web site. We did not like verizon.

I use the Motorola triumph from hiring moblir. I live in Washington fields where coverage bars vary between 2-3 bars out of four. I work in St. George near Res cliff's mall where the reception is never more than two bars. Then as you move towards the bulavard reception increases. I'm huge on data, so I'd like to share data speeds that I have observed on my phone. In areas where you get 2 to 3 bars speeds are anywhere from 50-100 k / b with spikes up to 200. In the 1-2 bars your lucky to get 20k / b. I compares side by side with the Sprint nexus S which consistantly had higher 3g data speed and pinged in about half the time. I hope you find my findings useful.

I don't get reception at my son's apartment in Hidden Valley, or outside his apartment building. I get terrible reception almost anywhere I go in St. George with Cingular / AT&T. They have the least dropped calls because you can never make a call. I have about 3000 roll over minutes because I can never use my phone in St. George or outlaying areas. I get no reception in Beaver Dam area.
