Higher elevation of my neighborhood does up to 3 bars but the lower areas of the hilly topography in Mt. Zephyr do not. One bar with some carriers, 0 with others.
I just moved here from Texas where I was able to get perfect reception in VERY remote areas with this Verizon service / phone. There was no place I couldn't go. Guess it must be tower / satellite location because up here in VA the service is absolutely terrible. I get sub par, one bar or disconnect, reception in my house. For my wireless internet card used with my laptop, the service is so sporadic that I've pretty much stopped checking email online (now just through blackberry). I found this website because I'm trying to find a new service provider, but apparently Verizon is the best here. If you are moving to this area, I highly recommend checking wireless connectivity when you are house / apt shopping. Sounds nerdy, but it might save you a lot of headache later.
calls drop just crossing the street or go to immediate voice mail even for Verizone to Verizon... . you need more towers or better connections. weak signal even at work.
Had AT&T in OK before moving to VA and had great service and reception. I had to change after almost 6 months of poor to no service from Blacksburg to DC. It was always dead, or dropping calls. Moved to US Cellular and have service when Verizon and others fail. Great option but no DC location. Closest is 5 hrs away... ..
Signal strenth is zero on the 4th floor of my apartment. Reception was also zero in my previous apartmetn in fairfax county... ... Goodbye ATT,,,Hello verizon
