I've lived in Pentagon City for 3 years now with AT&T. Signal goes from 5 bars to none without my phone moving from the coffee table, obviously this leads to multiple dropped calls everyday. 3G is VERY rare. I just bought the new iPhone and can't use 99% of the new features because they require 3G.

Poor reception; often drops calls. If I make a call from in my home I have to remain still or else it may get dropped. Not impressed.

I always have full coverage in my 6th floor apartment, even in elevators. I've never experienced no reception in the places I've been in Arlington or DC (except, of course, for places where you would not expect to get reception like underground parking garages or basements). I get adequate reception in some metro stations (on the Orange line), none in others, and none underground inbetween stations.

AT&T in South Fairlington is pathetically terrible. Roomates have great reception with Sprint and Verizon.

Marginal coverage on second floor of house. New ATT tower at CVS on Sycamore doesn't help since it's over the hill.

AT&T is absolutely useless in most parts of Fairlington, and the streets into Shirlington.

Was better last year. Now some areas of my apt have no coverage. My bars seem to cycle from 0 to 5 all the time

I don't know if it's more phone than service, but I get no bars inside and often outside my garden apartment. I've taken the phone to Cingular and replaced the SIM card but have not seen an improvement. The phone is Quad band and has 3G capability.

Very disappointed with reception and number of dropped calls from my apartment.

Awful. I have to leave the building to make a call. (But as soon as I leave the building, even on the patio, the wireless internet cuts out.)

This location (near Ft. Meyer and Sheffield Court) has always been bad. Several days now without service. Had the same problem with Sprint. Thank god I am moving next month, because this spot is just horrible!

Cingular has very poor reception in this area. 0-2 bars outside - I need to walk a block to Columbia Pike to even get reception some nights. I have called several times - they are verbally responsive - but always suggest the same actions which are ineffective ('updates' for my phone, and submit a ticket to chek out reception in the area).

Cingular absolutely has NO SERVICE in the Great Falls Area. Up and Down Algonkian Rd. is spotty at best. DO NOT use Cingular in or around Great Falls. You'll have better luck with two cans and a string.

I work in the American Diabetes Association building with over 300 others and everyone complains in the mile radius of no cellular / cingular service

Sometimes none. Verizon also bad. Sprint and T-Mobile are excellent in this area (Taylor Park, Military Rd, etc.)

Along Rt. 50, cell phone drops near Rosslyn, Ft. Myer, Harrison Street, and Arlington Forest Area. Seems to be worse in the last two months. Not the same as AT&T.

Signal varies between 2 bars and no bars. Dropped calls are common. The phone is almost useless inside the house and nearly outside for several houses in any direction. A Verizon phone used in the same location has a great signal.

There's almost no signal in the mall... especially not down in the food court. My mom and I couldn't have a conversation ("where are you?") from one end of the mall to the other.

On different phones consistently bad reception going off of Rt 50 onto 27.

I have great reception on Cingular in both Arlington, VA (home) and Rockville, MD (work). My only complaint is no service on the Metro.

Never a dropped call on the network. I had Verizon before getting Cingular for the v3 and I think that their network is comparabe.

cingular makes no effort to help customers and the average reception is 1 to 2 bars in all areas in northern va.

Cingular keeps dropping my calls (a few every day) and the bars are always jumping around. At times I have no reception even when other Cingular customers around me do. I've been constantly calling their tech support, but they have no clue whats going on. They have already replaced my pone once, now way that the Nokia 1100 may just be a bad model, so I should upgrade. If I wasn't in a contract, I'd leave - I recommend that no one joins Cingular - they have been useless. I've asked them to cancel my contract but they wont - if they don't provide me with service I shouldn't have to pay for it. Cingular really sucks !

Dropped calls, fade-outs. Best reception when roaming off an AT&T tower, but that source of reception sometimes disappears.

Not a problem - coverage is good all over the house. There is no issue with the service - would recomend.

It's perfect almost everywhere I go. I commute from Cleveland all the time and I get perfect reception almost the entire trip. The only time that I don't get any reception is when I'm on campus here at Marymount.

Good reception - no complaints even when my phone shows low reception.
