Inside my apartment there is no service. There used to be some and it was patchy, but for whatever reason there is absolutely no service now. Sprint sent an Airave device to boost the signal, which would be fine except they tried to charge me $50 for it after saying they wouldn't, and the device is not that small and needs to be near a window to work. For me to get it to work I have to drape a wire across my apartment for the gps antenna to catch a signal. This is turning into a lot of work for something that I'm paying for which should already work. Why am I paying Sprint every month to give me pointless chores? Before I start rearranging my entire apartment for a stupid phone I'm going to pull the rip-chord on Sprint and hopefully find better service elsewhere.

Constantly dropped calls inside and outside my apartment. Recently has gotten much worse. Cannot communicate when the phone drops your call! Went to Sprint store in Baileys Crossroads and had two dropped calls from inside the store. Not sure what service would be better, but this is terrible.

The only reason why I am rating is because I am actually thinking about leaving Sprint to go to Verizon. With that being said let me begin my story (for all you who are like why the heck did he rate this a 4 out of 5). I recently moved to Arlington VA (Courthouse area) for work. I have a personal Blackberry Tour and a work Blackberry curve (on Verizon). I was excited to get the Verizon phone so that I could test out both networks and see which one was better. Moving from Kansas, my roommates blackberry tour was constantly faster with data and always had better reception. This caused me to rethink being on Sprint even though it is cheaper. Moving to Arlington I have changed my opinion, my Verizon phone drops calls more often than my Sprint phone, data is faster on my tour than on my curve, and Sprint is cheaper. Verizon definitely has better reception but like any phone, if you are on the metro chances are you are going in and out of service. Both my devices work at almost any station I have been at (mostly blue and orange lines). My final thought is that maybe the tour is just that superior to my curve and that is part of the issue (my tour is 2 years old and my curve is 2 months old so kind of odd). I will say I will never get a personal curve but have to use what the company gives me. The reasoning behind giving Sprint 4 out of 5 is that in my 2 months of being out in Arlington, Sprint has performed just as well as Verizon and is cheaper (I haven't dropped any calls on my family but have dropped calls with clients). Hope this helps.

I don't think I've ever had a problem with Sprint reception anywhere in Arlington County, excluding the Metro system (and down there, have usually been able to roam on VZW). Data always solid, too.

I have experienced dropped calls for every singe conversation. I have even trouble with a girl I am dating. She is mad at me. She is convinced that have hung up the phone on her more than twice while talking to me. Some friends stop calling me as well because of this dropped calls nightmare with Sprint. As I am writing this comment, The Sprint Network is unavailable. It's been more than 30 minutes since I am not able to make a phone call and worst, I don't have a land line. I have switched two weeks ago from Verizon to Sprint due to cheaper plan. I will cancel my service with Sprint tomorrow morning and reactivate my service with Verizon. The plan I have with Sprint is $ 99.99. The same plan costs 139.99 with Verizon. But I agree to pay this S40.00 extra with Verizon for peace of mind. I have never experienced dropped calls with Verizon in my appartment which is very open. Sprint just sucks in the area where I live.

Sprint has very poor coverage is this area. I live in Arlington and Work in Alexandria and the coverage is extremely poor in Buildings. If you ride the Metro forget about using your phone. There are numerous areas in the mall where the reception is zero. I hear Verizon has the best coverage in the Northern VA area, but the verdict is still out. I am in the process of researching the networks to see if can find a provider with better coverage.

Even though I get four bars of reception, my calls still either dont go through or drop during the conversation. To get even that minimum quality, I have to be sranding by my front door. This neighborhood desperately needs a cell tower.

Lyon Village Apartments are hard on cell phones, which is too bad because of the free high-speed internet in the apartments and garden style layout making this a particularly good place to ditch the land line. Best reception is near windows; residents routinely use the courtyard.

i am on a Sprint phone, and have had pretty good luck in and around the district - no major problems. the service and reception with my phone is good in all areas that I have been around, which include the district, arlington, alexandria, and mclean, EXCEPT for in my apartment. which is at virginia square. but it might be due to the fact that I am on a high floor. on the ground, everything is good.

I am receiving constant complaints that I cannot be heard on the other end of the line. Seldom if ever do I have problems hearing the other person, but seemingly on every other call I am told that I am breaking up. This is a relatively new development and the "number of bars" doesn't seem to be the problem. I also have a colleague with a similar model phone experienceing the same problem so I know it isn't a simply a defect in my phone. I have also updated my firmware and prl data so I am pretty much at a loss and extremely frustrated. Only a few months ago my calls were rock solid. What could have changed?

Sprint has worked well in this area and never a dropped call in Arlington. I can even hold a conversation in a 20 + floor building elevator. There is NO reception in the metro, but to be expected unless you use Verizon. I've heard that they are the only carrier with coverage in the metro. As for Sprint, I've had some dropped calls when I'm in the city, but overall it has been quite good.

I get 4 "deceiving" bars of service most of the time, yet I have to dial 20 times or more to place a call and I usually give up. Each time it says "Connecting" then "Redialing" then "No Service Available" then "Entering Sprint Service Area" all in a few seconds. Very frustrating. Sometimes it works just fine, and then half way through a call it will stop working - either fading completely or the other person cannot hear me speak or hears digital noise.

Has good reception when ur outside on the ground.
Doesn't work at all inside the crystal city shops (underground).
Don't even think abt using it in metro if ur travelling underground. If you've roaming enabled then it "might" work in analog mode. I spent at least 2-3 hrs in the metro or waiting for the train (underground station).. and sprint is really useless for that part of the day. Have really wondered abt the service provider where some people can use their mobile even through the biggest stretches of the metro underground.
If ur a metro commuter.. throw sprint away.
