Was better last year. Now some areas of my apt have no coverage. My bars seem to cycle from 0 to 5 all the time

I don't know if it's more phone than service, but I get no bars inside and often outside my garden apartment. I've taken the phone to Cingular and replaced the SIM card but have not seen an improvement. The phone is Quad band and has 3G capability.

Awful. I have to leave the building to make a call. (But as soon as I leave the building, even on the patio, the wireless internet cuts out.)

I live in a building on the fourth floor on top of the largest elevation for miles. I look down onto Pentagon Row and the Pentagon. I still can't get consistent reception with either Verizon or Cingular. My calls are constantly dropped every night.

Sprint has very poor coverage is this area. I live in Arlington and Work in Alexandria and the coverage is extremely poor in Buildings. If you ride the Metro forget about using your phone. There are numerous areas in the mall where the reception is zero. I hear Verizon has the best coverage in the Northern VA area, but the verdict is still out. I am in the process of researching the networks to see if can find a provider with better coverage.

Spotty performance. Voice calls drop easily while moving around mid floor apartment in steel and brick building, even with 4 or 5 bars showing. Many incoming calls kick to voicemail, even when calling out is viable. Oddly, broadband wireless card in PC works adequately. I suspect a (voice)bandwidth problem, with thousands of workers in Crystal City (and the Pentagon nearby) and thousands of travellers at National Airport. Maybe they can hang antennas from the black helicopters?

Very spotty coverage at best outdoors. Even worse when indoors. Dropped calls and very bad direct connect connecitions. This is my second Nextel device (first was the I-80) and both have the same issue. I have used (or tried to use) Nextel devices in this area for over 4 years with the same issues. After speaking to co-workers, it appears that the Nextel / Sprint merger has actually caused certain known good areas to actually worsen. As a result, our company has decided to drop 85+ accounts in favor of a different carrier.

In Fairlington, on top of the hill (28th St.) that goes down to Walter Reed, I have excellent reception with T-mobile. It's actually gotten better over the three months I've had the phone.

This location (near Ft. Meyer and Sheffield Court) has always been bad. Several days now without service. Had the same problem with Sprint. Thank god I am moving next month, because this spot is just horrible!

Cingular has very poor reception in this area. 0-2 bars outside - I need to walk a block to Columbia Pike to even get reception some nights. I have called several times - they are verbally responsive - but always suggest the same actions which are ineffective ('updates' for my phone, and submit a ticket to chek out reception in the area).

Cingular absolutely has NO SERVICE in the Great Falls Area. Up and Down Algonkian Rd. is spotty at best. DO NOT use Cingular in or around Great Falls. You'll have better luck with two cans and a string.

Even though I get four bars of reception, my calls still either dont go through or drop during the conversation. To get even that minimum quality, I have to be sranding by my front door. This neighborhood desperately needs a cell tower.

I typically don't have a problem with Verizon, but going from the Toll Rd.to 66 (or vice versa) I typically get dropped calls and no reception in this area. You would think, with all the Right of Ways around here (Metro, major roads, etc.) they could find a place for a cell tower!
