There are very few places in Blacksburg and Christiansburg that I can't good coverage. I do have trouble at Krogers (all 3 in the area)- and I can still find places in the store that it works- it's just not perfect. I can't think of anywhere else I have trouble off the top of my head, but I know there have been some dropped calls here and there.

I think Sprint service was decent and it has gotten better over the years. I get it everywhere outside. I am able to walk around in the dorm and get good reception. The only better service in town is Verizon..my friend walks around in these limestone castles with perfect reception!

Sprint service is terrible throughout Blacksburg. I've been in two VT dorms, an apartment, downtown and on campus and I get little reception.

I live on a first floor apartment (2 apartments above me). The reception here is horrible. My phone is almost always in roaming. Rarely can I get a signal at all in my apartment and sometimes I can't even get a clear signal outside my apartment.

Sprint works fine in my office and on local roads (except for one place on the 460 bypass on the way to Christiansburg) but it's terrible in the house-- only one or two rooms are barely tolerable.

I've gotten 1-4 bars everywhere in blacksburg / christiansburg. I've used it on Campus, Oakbridge, Tech Terrace, Foxridge, and Terrace View apts without any dead spots. Used to be that there were several dead spots, but now there aren't any, except in McBryde. The good thing about Verizon / Sprint in general is that they use CDMA technology which gives you clear calls even on 1 bar, so that's all you need pretty much. With Cingular / TMobile, they use GSM - where every bar makes a difference in audio quality.
