I have been living in this area for more than 8 years and have always had good reception on my Sprint PCS phone. There are new towers covering Linton Hall drive. Sprint is located at the tower on Marsteller Middle School, along Wellington Rd (near World Gym) and near Rt. 28 behind the new Target strip mall. I never had any dropped calls that are significant, occasionally during rush hour, otherwise service is very much consistent compared to other wireless carrier. BTW, as part of my job, I get to carry (test) all other wireless carriers - Nextel iDEN, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, which makes it easy to compare service coverage and performance between carriers.
I have lived in this area for 8 years and although the coverage has moderately improved, it is overall pretty bad. In these 8 years I have had AT&T / Cingular, service was terrible, no signal. Verizon - Impossible to maintain a signal in the house, but can get one or two bars if I stand on my head in the middle of the street (just kidding). The service does tend to drop the calls depending on where I am on Linton Hall. Sprint and Nextel - (this is my work cell). I am able to get a full signal on my Nextel phone in my home. However, I can completely lose the signal while standing in one spot and have it come back on at 5 bars. I'm not sure what the reason is for that. I have a Sprint EVDO (broadband) card for my PC and it has 5 bars all the time. In short, no matter what service you get out here, it's not going to be entirely reliable. Fortunately for me, I can switch between my personal cell (verizon) and work cell (nextel) when one service drops. Good Luck on your choice.
As has been stated poor reception outside my house and virtually nothing indoors. I'm cosidering a signal repeater but don't know if it will really help.
Pretty much what everyone else said. Reception sucks in the house. One side of the house is OK, the other drops calls. Come on, add another tower already.
Constantly getting my calls dropped from my home. Got them to check it out and was told I live in a "known challenge area"
Trying to get out of the contract now.
I live in Kingsbrook. There is zero reception all through Kingsbrook, Foxborough, Glenkirk ect. In fact the entire Manassas, Bristow area has very poor coverage. It wasn't this bad a few years ago. The coverage with Verizon seems to get worse and worse.
