There is only one place in Cape Charles that we can get fairly constant reception, and that is in the Food Lion parking lot. We have lost our land line phone on several occasions due to weather problems, and we had someone in the house who has a chronic lung problem. We were quite anxious about how we would reach 911. reception in town and in nearby wealthy subdivisions and in adjacent areas of the Chesapeake Bay varies from poor to none. The lack of service in the Eastern lower bay is a safety issue for boaters. Other cell providers are said to have similar poor to vero reception.
