In Cumberland, if you want your phone to work you better have Verizon, Straight Talk or Sprint, nothing else works up here. Before I go to Bucking ham or Charlottesville (UVA Hospital) area I have to update my roaming towers to get service, but remember you need to do it before you get there if not you will not be able to do it once you get there. Was this review helpful to you?
Coverage was poor at this location for years. Then, it was great for a couple of years, not it is back to poor for months now.Was this review helpful to you?
im off of route 13 in cumberland, near where route 45 connects to route 60. most of the time I can't make or receive calls, but sometimes I can, it will just drop out after about a minute or so. I can get text messages if I keep the phone at the window but sometimes they get to my phone hours late because of the time of sending there was no reception. all in all, a very moody reception from virgin mobile where I am. it gets better and better going out of cumberland and into powhatan. Was this review helpful to you?
Reception south of Rt. 60 is horrible, almost non-existent. Reception in my yard is nonexistent. Dropped calls all the time. Good reception in Jamaica though. (LOL)Was this review helpful to you?

I primarily use my Sprint phone everywhere. With the exception of Sallee Creek up on Rt. 60, and the obvious obstructed back road areas, my phone works everywhere. Now, when I travel to and through Buckingham County, there is no service on Rt. 60 up to Sprouse's Corner. I have friends who visit and their phones (Verizon, Alltel, and others) do not work past Sallee Creek at times. My phone works in my home, and in most other places...Was this review helpful to you?
