Falls Church / McLean / Great Falls and Idylwood, Falls Church, VA 22043 |
Wed Jun 14, 2006 |
Dropped calls and no service throughout Great Falls St. / Kirby Rd / Idylwood Rd. / West Falls Church Metro Area. Spotty service at best, often no service from Rt. 7 and Idylwood Rd to Mclean. We have tried Sprint, T-Mobile, and after being told Verizon gets the best coverage everywhere, now Verizon. If we are standing in the back portion of the backyard service sometimes works. Also in the corner of an upstairs bedroom, near a window service SOMETIMES works. On the rare occasion we can find a place in or near home to use our phone, the call is almost always dropped and service is no longer available at that time. We have called Verizon and are nicely told, we live in a dead area and they don't know what can be done about it. We find it curious they did not know we lived in a dead area when we were searching for a new service. They do continue to drop us a bill every month.

Just moved to Northern Virginia from Midwest and my reception is horrible. I am receiving messages for other people on my voicemail and people are calling my phone asking for other people. I definitely can't use my phone in my office or the mall. My coverage was excellent in the Midwest, but here it is poor. Cingular suggested I switch to a local area code, but I think I may just change carriers.

Absolutely terrible. It will drop calls constantly, even when showing 3 or 4 bars. I should either go back to AT&T wireless or to Verizon.

This area has poor reception for ATT, Sprint, and T-Mobile - I think its something about the geography. Every one in our neighborhood suffers.

T-Mobile coverage around the intersection of I395 and King St.(Rt7) stinks. Its a guarenteed drop call somewhere within 1 / 2 mile. Very main roads to have poor coverage. But thats what I've come to expect with T-mobile

The reception in this area near the West Falls Church Metro has always been spotty for nearly all carriers, but it has gotten much worse over the last couple of months. My house is now basically one big dead spot! The reception is very bad, as well, on the portion of Westmoreland St. that is bracketed by Williamsburg Blvd. and Kirby Rd. I think the LG VX6000 has a tendency to drop calls everywhere in the country, but it is particularly bad in this area of Falls Church / McLean.

The phone does not work at all at my home in Falls Church. It cuts in and out on virtually every call. My wife insists on keeping the cell phones, but it feels to me like throwing money down a toilet.

I moved to DC from chicago, I have had the WORST reception ever since moving here. I could even get reception underground in bars in Chicago, ubt nowhere in DC seems to be any good - I plan on switching to verizon. Their deals aren't as good as their competitors, but who can beat service in the metro tunnels.
