Very frustrating. AT&T says I have too many trees in my neighborhood, and the trees have no leaves on them yet, my GSM service is doomed.
GSM service at a higher frequency, not as strong as digital. AM Radio service strongest?
Went to Tysons Corner Mall the other day, no service inside the mall buildings.
AT&T advertises better coverage, I just don't see it, yet! Maybe soon.

Whole area seems to be no reception to very poor reception. From East of Annandale Road along Sleepy Hollow Road thru Lake Barcroft Area to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) to Columbia Pike.
My old AT&T Digital Service was bad, but not as bad as AT&T GSM Service.

Never have reception in my house at all. Always get the dial tone or dropped call tone inside my house. Have to walk all the way outside to my mailbox to get even decent service.

Very bad reception. Occassionally get reception for a second or two and then calls get dropped. Even voicemail can take hours for voicemail notification so I don't even know I missed calls.

Dropped calls and no service throughout Great Falls St. / Kirby Rd / Idylwood Rd. / West Falls Church Metro Area. Spotty service at best, often no service from Rt. 7 and Idylwood Rd to Mclean. We have tried Sprint, T-Mobile, and after being told Verizon gets the best coverage everywhere, now Verizon. If we are standing in the back portion of the backyard service sometimes works. Also in the corner of an upstairs bedroom, near a window service SOMETIMES works. On the rare occasion we can find a place in or near home to use our phone, the call is almost always dropped and service is no longer available at that time. We have called Verizon and are nicely told, we live in a dead area and they don't know what can be done about it. We find it curious they did not know we lived in a dead area when we were searching for a new service. They do continue to drop us a bill every month.

Absolutely NO reception in the apartment, 1 - 2 bars outside. If someone manages to reach me by chance, the reception is so bad that I have to call back via Vonage. T-Mobile reception in CA with the same phone(s) was flawless, we recently moved to VA. Using a Motorola for the second phone, same problem, works only in DC.

Just moved to Northern Virginia from Midwest and my reception is horrible. I am receiving messages for other people on my voicemail and people are calling my phone asking for other people. I definitely can't use my phone in my office or the mall. My coverage was excellent in the Midwest, but here it is poor. Cingular suggested I switch to a local area code, but I think I may just change carriers.
