I-95 / 50 Miles DC To Fredericksburg VA RT, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 |
Sat Aug 20, 2011 |
I commute daily 50 mi. Each way On I-95 Fredericksburg Va to DC. Terrible reception especially when using apps. Surfing web, Netflix, etc. I've complained mAny times to ATT, but they never a knowledge there are problems. When I bought my iPhones, ATT should have legally advised me my phone would not work!

Have been after AT&T for years to get more towers. No luck I am going to Verizon. AT&T has lost many customers because of this issue..

One bar max. inside the house. Two max, mostly one bar outside the house. Zero bar in several locations in the house. AT&T is a lousy cell service in the 22405 zip area.

Miserable to just tolerable across the area. Cannot use indoors, have to go outside to get 1 bar with any of our phones. Same goes for inside any local stores such as Giant or WalMart. When this contract is up, we're going to Verizon. I use Verizon for my work cell phone and it works just fine in locations described above.

Been with AT&T for a couple years and never had problems anywhere in Fredericksburg until I moved to the Ferry Farm region. One or two bars at best in or out of my home. Seems to drop off quickly as you approach the Ferry Farm area (corner of Ferry Rd.and Business Rte 3) and only gets worse heading northeast on Ferry Road. Same experience on our other cell phone -- Nokia 6360 on Suncom TDMA (former AT&T partner and uses same network).

Off Hwy. 17, lots of dropped calls. Recurring, yet random 1-2 second intermittent loss during a connected phone call. Travel from Hwy. 17 up I-95 to Quantico. Reception is a little better on I-95, but I have had the call drop and received connection failures. Reception on mainside of Quantico ranges from decent to poor with multiple dropped calls.

My calls are always dropped and I am forced to use the house phone (which means long distance charges!) Often am not even ABLE to make a call. Awful service.

Have to step outside of my house to make a call, and that usually only bumps me up to two bars. Previously used a Virgin Mobile Audiovox 8500 (which uses the Sprint network, I believe), and was able to get up to four bars from inside my home.

I am completely PO'd with Sprint's reception. I can't use my phone at my house without moving from room to room in search of a clear signal, which is a very weak one at that. Submitted numerous trouble tickets with no help from Sprint Tech support either. I drop a LOT of calls. I don't even think about making a call inside a shopping mall.

5 years ago Verizon was not that bad. But they must be working hard because Verizon now sucks. Dropped calls nearly every call. 3 different phones. All drop calls. Did I say Verizon sucks? Every call.

Very reliable reception, NEVER a get any dropped calls, throughout the Spotsylvania Orange area. Only problem with service happens when I'm in a big building and that's a rarity.

Very poor reception in my basement. Service fluctuates from 1X-1XII in my neighborhood. But still great call quality and signal everywhere else I go. AT&T and Verizon are like Coke and Pepsi. They both have their flaws.

Very few dropped calls. There are only one or two "bad spots". Good coverage throughout Route 3 to Orange and all the way down into Partlow and Lake Anna areas. Entire City of Fredericksburg is covered. Only provider I am aware of in the area with true wide-area coverage. Been a customer for almost 10 years, tried others (friends, work, etc... ) and never switched.
