I have never liked Cingular's cell service, or their customer service. The employees at the Cingular store on Wards Road, Lynchburg have been rude in the extreme, even ignoring me when I've been waiting. The employees on the 800-number help line have usually been more helpful and knowlegable, and could solve problems the people in the store couldn't. Unfortunately, the dialing menu to get to them is a hassle. Cingular does NOT live up to it's advertising. I constantly get dropped calls in Lynchburg and surrounding areas. There are long stretches of no service between Lynchburg and Charlottesville. Here in Gladys, where I live, I get no service at all, unless I stand perfectly still in my driveway, facing a certain direction, and I get ONE bar of signal. The drive from Lynchburg to my home is largely without signal. I have NEVER been able to get signal when I'm on the Outer Banks of NC. I WILL be switching companies as soon as my contract is over.
