I didn't expect reception here on Looney's Creek, but I've checked the phone at several places between here and Vansant and I haven't gotten any reception at all. I'm very glad I chose the plan that didn't require a 2-year contract, but I wish I'd sent the phone back within the trial period. At least I can use it on longer trips.
There is still no reception on 460W from Claypool Hill to Vansant. In downtown Grundy, you can usually acquire 1 bar and can sometimes have a 10 minute conversation without dropping the call. On 460W from Vansant, Va to Pikeville Ky, you drain your battery constantly searching for a signal and get one bar on and off- but you can't keep a signal for longer than 3 minutes. So, if you have to call for help, the call may be dropped before the person you are calling can even answer.
Sidekick T-Mobile has no range at all. I tried everywhere and still nothing works. from I-77 to grundy, va and around I would say 50 to 60 miles circle outside of grundy va has no signal at all.
