During the weekend of Dec 31, 2010 and Jan 1, 2011, I could not get a single bar at my home with Verizon. I usually don't get very good reception at my home but generally see one to two bars. During the weekend mentioned, absolutely no bars. Did Verizon have a failure? It would be nice if they would tell us what is going on.

Service is worse in summer when leaves are on trees, ok in winter although there are still dropped calls. UNFORTUNATELY Verizon is the best carrier with somewhat of a signal, even though its unreliable. We pay such a price for service, why not put up more towers, I have 13 acres here, ya'll need a spot?

I can not use my phone inside my home, BUT its fine outside 98% of the time, don't know what I will do this winter cause I hate the cold weather with a passion. Verizon did not work well here either, don't know why someone can't put more towers up in the area. Hey I have land if they need a spot! CHEAP just so I can talk and text without having to go outside.

Sprint / Nextel is the worst. I have direct connect and can't even use that in this area. No texting, calling in or out, and no 2 way. Once I get home there is no sort of communication with the outside world unless I go up to the Food Lion.

Verizon coverage is good in all nearby areas. I can't complain about that. However, I live in Fairview Beach whick seems to be a black hole in the middle of good reception. We experience dropped calls, no reception, delayed text message and voicemail recieving, and also complete loss of service from time to time. Also the Verizon stores in the area have dreadful customer service. Every time I or anyone else I know with Verizon has a problem, it seems they try harder to find a reason not to help. The customer service phone line representatives have even said they are terrible.

There are only a few very small spots where I can get a couple of bars. Most of the time I don't get any signal at all.
