My service inside my home waivers between 1 bar and no bars, My calls drop all the time and callers and I often have to repeat ourselves during calls. If I stand pushing my face into a window I can sometimes get through a whole phone call with out having to redial.

The reception out here is very poor. I have call dropping as soon as get in the neighborhood. At my apartment I may have two bars if I move around my place. When I do I have to sit on the floor just to talk. For the past few days I can't get a steady signal. It goes from two bars to none at all in a matter of seconds. It's frustrating when you are trying to talk to someone on my cell and have to constantly call him / her back. Sprint reception really sucks here.

I have been an ATT user for years, however, in the last 5 months recpetion at my home is very bad. I put my phone in the diag mode and ATT cell site is reseting 5 to 10 times per after a crash. The signel strength is VERY bad.

Used to have Verizon and very glad I switched to AT&T 3 yrs ago. Excellent service inside, outside, in basement. Always have 3-5 bars. And customer service rocks over Verizon... hands down!

The best is 3 bars, sometimes I nowconly have 1-2 bars. I used to get far better quality of reception and no trouble with dropped calls before switching from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4. With iPhone 4 I continually have poor connections, garbled voice, dropped calls. I'm convinced that the change in quality of reception has more to do with the problems of iPhone 4 antenna then it has to do with AT&T. I've liked AT&T service better than Verizon which I had previously; but I sure regret changing to iPhone 4. It should actually drop the "phone" part from its name because it does EVERYTHING BUT provide good phone service.

I used to have horrible horrible reception with an older Motorola V400 series. I recently witched to a newer Nokia N75. The clarity and reception has improved immensely. I often drive to Sterling and there are no dead spots anymore. I actually was very pessimistic about AT&T. Itis odd that the new phone made such a difference. A geek friend said it is in the newer improved SIM chips. Anyway..the voice is good, and Downlaods with MTSA GSM... while not HSPDA..is decent. I am not ecstatic about AT&T..but I am no longer as furious and angry either. YMMV

Always 4-5 bars in the house and around Leesburg downtown within walking distance, except in big stores with lots of flourescents (Like Home Depot, Target) where everyone drops out. Total drop-out on Rt 15 anywhere near Point of Rocks.

Philomont / Middleburg / 50 West, Leesburg, VA 20175 |
Sun Jun 18, 2006 |
On 50 west, drops off almost entirely after Middleburg and doesn't return. On 7 west, drops off at Leesburg Mountain, is iffy to the Shenandoah, then comes back in Clarke County. Good in Purcellville / Hamilton, but generally iffy west of 15. A little hinky around Dulles Airport, especially on the Toll Road. Messaging is hit-or miss; can take a day or more to receive a message even with updated software.

Worst situation: Inside near electronics calling cell to cell. Reception improved greatly with change to Nokia as recommended by my sister a T-Mobile support tech. The area is rated 2 bars by T-Mobile's website. My spouse has Sprint with Samsung phone and significantly better reception. If my phone service weren't free, I wouldn't keep T-Mobile.

I get great Cingular GSM coverage throughout Leesburg and south to Chantilly and even out to Purcellville / Round Hill. I have never had a problem getting reception BUT, my wife has the same exact phone and carrier (and we are on the same family plan) and she cannot get coverage in River Creek at our house. I guess I got the Razr with the good antenna. I am going to try one of those boosters you stick on your battery and if that doesn't work I'm getting her another phone. I have found that the phone can make a big difference in getting reception.

Very rare to hold an entire conversation without dropping the call. Setting phone to roaming only helps a little but not much. Phone does connect at EVDO speeds but not at any impressive speeds at all.

T-Mobile's reception isnt bad but there seems to be times when you just cant acquire a signal and occasionally it is hard to hear the other person or for them to hear you. This is especially true in buildings.

I bought my phone for its excellent reception which is likely the reason why I get any reception at all. I can not hold a conversation without being dropped. Mostly, I learn that I've received a call after the fact.
