Very good service throughout Martinsville. I've tried others for trial periods but keep coming back to Alltel because they don't have any problems spots around the area that I've found. The plans are also very reasonable. I'm on a family plan with 2 lines, 1000 minutes, nights at 7, and My Circle for $75 / month. I'm very happy with the coverage and service all the way around.

for most of the MVA area, receptioin is good. However, once you get on the fringes, for example Patrick County, things get a little worse

Had US Cellular for years, no service here. Had AT and T for a year now, no service. No hope of making or receiving a phone call within about 5 miles in ANY direction. Same thing for ALL other carriers as well. Have heard its because of signal bleed across a county line just 2 miles south of here.

NO reception inside, dicey outside. Many miles of no reception once east of Danville until almost to Richmond on 360---bad safety on road.

I have a Blackberry 9330 curve 3g and the service is terrible in this area especially when I'm in the house, I drop calls every single day. It also has terrible reception in Danville, Va down near the airport going east on 58.

Really good coverage if you did not have to pay exra for the roaming. Instead we pay for the "National Pan" which only gives us 800 minutes to share and then if we are using our phones and are roaming outside of my "extended coverage area" we are having our minutes deducted from our "Peak" 800 minutes now matter when we use them--nights or weekends

Completely dead area for approximately a 4 mile radius.
