At at my house, signal continually bounces between 1x and EVDO, and drains the battery seaching for signals. Verizon aircard is even worse with a weak 1x signal (near dial-up speeds) that also bounces and breaks any sort of real-time sensitive applications. Yet I can drive about a half a block and get a strong EVDO phone and near T-1 broadband Internet speeds. Literally less than a 100 yards away! Verizon Customer Service? Ha, now that's an oxymoron if there ever was one. As soon as AT&T upgrades their tower equipment, I'm switching. Verizon can take their "We're sorry for you inconvenience... " bleatings and, well, you know what they can do with 'em.
