I have AT&T and a Blackberry Curve... I use my phone for my business... reception SUCKS! The guy at AT&T told me that it was because of the tower, where they are situated that we are outside of the area!1 I Pay for 3 phones and not getting service I pay for. He says other phones will work better..am going today to see if I can get another phone other than my Blackberry... we will see, don"t want to loose my plan..not my fault I need another phone! NOT FAIR!
Let me first start out saying that I do not in anyway think T-Mobile is not a good carrier. I do but it is not the right carrier for me where I reside at. I do get 2 and 3 bars once in awhile but it seems like within seconds I will loose 1 or 2 bars often leaving me only one bar. There are many spots in my house that I can not use my phone to make calls from and trying to use my data plan is becoming a nightmare. It's not unusual to loose my data feed when I am trying to get onto the web. Right now T-Mobile is not a good wireless carrier for some of us who live in the Ingleside section of Norfolk Va. I am hoping that when they get their 3G wired into our area things will improve for me but if this does not happen by the time my plan is up for renewal, I will be moving to another carrier.
Ever since I switched to Sprint, my calls are dropped all the time, customer service is terrible, and I have to leave the house to make a phone call. I wouldn't recommend Sprint to anybody who is shopping for cell phone service around here. My friends who have alltell and Verizon seem to have great service here though.
I moved from NYC to Ghent. I had been pleased with Sprint coverage in NYC. But in Ghent on the cell phone people say "I can't hear you, you're breaking up... I only get every other word." I use my phone for important business. And poor reception effects my job preformance. Unacceptable to me. I called customer service, who Updated my software, said they were sending out engineers..etc.. Still the same problems. It's upsetting I enjoy Sprint. And feel Forced to switch because of inadaquate coverage. Time's Up..Gotta switch, I'm losing business.
Great coverage in this area. I had 2-3 bars at my house with previous provider and many more problems inside in many places, but have full signal with Alltel at my house and it tends to drop off far less indoors. The coverage is good at house, on base, all through Tidewater Dr. and Military Hwy. The signal just tends to stay strong all through the area. My Circle is a nice calling feature also that can be used for many free minutes. I usually try to write pros and cons, but my only complaint I can think of is the store by Blockbuster in Janaf was busy the day I was there so I had to wait about 15 minutes, but it was a Saturday afternoon. The gentleman seemed friendly and helpful though.
Man I am very sorry to say this, just because I am a district manager for Think Wireless (We Sell Cingular), not sorry of think wireless but cingular, I never thought I would sell a product that I didnt like. But it so happened. Every Where I went, from some theater to some other theater basically most of that part (cant say much because I didnt see the rest of the city) service sucked. service sucked the WHOLE way on US Route 29. That was a nightmare. The road itself is so freakin scary, then on TOP of that no service, I thought some blair witch was about pop off. lol. But Lynchburg Was fun though, first time there, visiting my Fianc`e and her family, it was great.
I go to ODU and Alltel in Norfolk has great coverage. I am really happy with coverage everywhere in the region actually. I was so surprised to actually have a good signal I can even use back in the Wal-Mart on North Military Hwy. but so far Alltel has surpassed my every expectation. No dropped calls and great voice quality. I would definitely recommend them for this region. Alltel's coverage here is unbeatable and their prices are great too compared to others.
I have become use to switching carriers every couple of years because of reception troubles and dead spots in various locations around the Hampton Roads area so this time I decided to try Alltel and am thrilled with the switch. I can't think of anywhere that I don't get at least 4 bars, usually 5. I couldn't be happier and think I finally found a carrier to stick with. They also have great reception up the interstate to Richmond as well as down beyond Suffolk. So far, I have no complaints and am happy to be with Alltel.
The reception is FANTASTIC outdoors and on the streets, but go into some buildings, such as the Mariott or Dominion Tower and the reception drops dramatically. You would have to get right up against a window to get any kind of reception.
