Works well most of the time, but there is a spotty area between Keswick and the Lake that can be problematic. Wish I had been able to stay with Nextel, but they did not carry Treo's
Can't use the phone at all inside the house - iffy outside - set to Roaming it picks up Verizon fine - Alltel and US Cellular work fine with digital reception (longer battery life)
No problem with reception all around lake area. Good reception on Route 53 from lake to Charlottesville, with one low signal point just south of Monticello. Good all around Charlottesville proper. Fair to poor in Ivy, Crozet, Earlysville. Good signal on 250 East of C'ville to Glenmore No signal on 64 in Ivy exit area. Also a dead area on Rt 29 between Interstate 64 and Rt 250 exits Lots of drop outs North and South of C'ville on Route 29 Overall generally content with signal and service. Rates are higher than competitors, probably due to "free" 2-way radio feature. Bills are indecipherable.
Even with a cell tower in the general area, reception out here is really poor. Don't have reception at home, nor by the middle school. Driving in on 600 is a issue too. The northern part of C-ville is also a problem. The system things that I'm out of area when I'm by the walmart.
