Since my company switched me to Sprint (which has major offices about a mile away from my intersection) my cell phone reception has been 100% amazing -- even all across the the entire Reston, Fairfax, and WashingtonDC / Virginia / Maryland area... Good work, cellular provider Spr1nt!

I wrote a review of my Cingular service at this location on Aug. 2, 2005. I finally quit trying to resolve the horrible reception problems with Cingular and switched to Verizon. I will pay an early termination fee to Cingular, but I was paying them a monthly fee for essentially no service. So, by terminating early, I'm cutting my losses. With Verizon, I opted for one of the most basic phones they offered (LG VX-4650). The difference between Verizon and Cingular is astounding. I get perfect reception in my apartment at St. Johns Wood. No failed or dropped calls. And Verizon's customer service has been excellent (took 10 minutes to port my Cingular number over to Verizon).

Great Coverage, better be since Nextel's headquarters is located here.

Strong T-Mobile signal all around reston. I work in chantilly and have expeirienced only a couple deadspots while driving on 28 between the toll road and 50. No complaints about t-mobile's coverage. Only warning is to be careful of switching calling plans if you're using their auto-billing feature, their systems can get really messed up.

I've never dropped a call or had a problem with reception other than while driving close to the CIA center in Langley. AT&T does well in downtown DC and most surrounding areas. There are a few week cell towers namely around Fort Bellvoir and the Metro. Customer Service is good, though I have had a few billing problems. For my first few months on my plan, no night or weekend minutes were counted as such, and they were deducted from my weekday minutes. Customer service has taken care of this well and offered credit for the inconvience. I've had my phone for 3 months and have yet to pay a bill.

I live about 1 / 2 mile from the intersection in Boston Ridge. Outdoor reception is ok to excellent. Indoor reception is sometimes 3-4 bars out of 5 and other times 2 bars and calls dropped. Zero bars in the basement (walk out).

For the most part, verizon is good around reston and herndon area (at least as far as I have gone). There are dead spots. At my house (north reston, 20194) the signal is weak inside and calls drop frequently. Very frustrating. Could be just my location or my phone, though.

Very poor reception in the house. A lot of dropped calls and missed calls. Slightly better standing by the door, but still lose a lot of calls even when walking outside. Probably will be switching to Verizon; it's useless here.

In my house, the dropped are calls increasing. Voice quality poor. Sometimes "No Service". I never had this problem with AT&T. I get no satisfaction from Cingular Customer Service.

Horrible 3G coverage pretty much anywhere north of Baron Cameron. I constantly only have 1 bar at my house in North Reston. I was considering upgrading to a 4G phone but what's the point when I can barely get 3G.

Keeps dropping calls on first floor of house. Second floor has better reception. ATT coverage map rates the area on border of Best to Good.

I have one bar barely inside at present. It was better last week. Dropped calls today. I have a throw away Virgin Mobile that has 4 bars all the time inside. Verizon phone works well outside but inside lately it is a pain.

Inside our townhouse we get 1-2 bars, always dropped calls. Less than 1 / 4 mile away, perfect reception. A New Cingular tower is less than 0.5 mile away. The dead zone may be due to factors other than carrier.

We usually get 1 bar inside and have to go to the south facing window to get better (maybe 2 bars) reception. I've had instances where the signal drops to zero on Colts Neck at the dip in the road just before the entrance to the RCC at Hunters Woods Plaza. Many dropped calls on a daily commute on the beltway and the daily dropped call westbound on the toll road by Wolf Trap. Thinking of switching to Verizon.

We have a first floor unit in a brick and steel 4-story condo. Almost no reception in the middle of the unit, some reception close to the windows. 5 bars outside of the unit. This has been the same from back when it was Cingular Blue.
