The most bars I can get is 2 if I'm lucky. Most of the time I need to go outside to complete call. I don't know where the nearest tower is but it's not within 2 miles.

I have problems with my cellular service all over the Richmond area, as do numerous friends and family members of mine who also have Verizon service. I usually do not even get service on Strawberry St., Robinson St., and Midlothian Turnpike! I experience difficulties on a daily basis with making and receiving calls, as well as sending and receiving text messages!

I can rarely complete a phone call at this location. However, it is better in other locations throughout the city of Richmond. To be fair I am using an old LG. (Other Verizon models appear to pick up better.) Still, not impressed with the coverage.

Had been with AT&T since they were Suncom. We had to switch from AT&T to Verizon, because AT&T's service had 1 or 0 bars in the house. We were tired of having to go outside to make a phonecall. Switched to Verizon and now we are b / w 3 and 4 bars inside! The service has been great, no complaints. It is bitter-sweet though. We switched to Mac computers in the house and love them. So naturally we want iPhones now. I am anxious to get my buddy over here with his iPhone 2nd gen to do a site survey of Signal stregnth I am hoping 3G network has improved the coverage.

Absolutely no problems. TV, mobile web, GPS work without a hitch. Hint to those that do have problems: update your software one a month.

Bars don't mean much. I live 1 / 2 mile from I-95 on Parham Rd.and it is NOT possible to have a phone conversation over 10 minutes without the call being dropped over and over again. Nearly every call gets dropped and picked up again, it's so frustrating I want to throw the phone out the window. I am not sure if the problem is Verizon or the phone model.

Had Alltel for years and was just used to going outside to make calls. Phone never worked in my parham road office (although would sometimes roam on the Sprint Network). Never worked inside any schools (Not that we should be using the phone in schools). Never worked in my home. Had just gotten used to it over the years. Well, I decided to change to Verizon, and there is no looking back. I have yet to have one dropped call. I have yet to find one place where it says searcing for service. I feel like I have finally joined the cellular revolution. I am sure each company has their strong and weak areas, but let me tell you living in this neighborhood in Richmond Virginia Verizon is the only way to go.

Reception all around is very good, selection of phones is terrible, and newer phones have trouble getting reception where my e815 got full service, all in all reception is very good, no dead spots. Miss my old Sprint phone though.

We moved from Northern VA and Verizon works great up there. I also had ATT and they worked great there too (years ago). Since I have been here I get no reception in my apartment... if there is one bar my calls are constantly dropped. I can count on it! Walking outside doesn't help either. I don't know if it is just Verizon or if other carriers are this horrible here. We won't be renewing with Verizon though.

I have never had a dropped call from anywhere in or around my house, as opposed to Sprint which had dead spots all over the house. I can walk from my office downtown on Broad to my parking deck, get in my car and drive home along the Downtown Expressway to the Powhite to Forest Hill Ave. to Riverside Dr.and on into my house without a call ever being dropped. I can get a signal and talk virtually anywhere along I-64 East toward Tidewater and I-95 / 85 South to NC. Verizon beats Sprint hands down! Just wish they had better deals on their phones; it's time to renew. The Samsung phone was great except that one of the two we owned (family plan) broke a hinge after 7 months regular use...

Verizon is the only company that gets usable service in this wooded, low-lying area. Usually get 2-3 bars with few drops. Also, Verizon has good reception all over Johnston-Willis Hospital.
