I can get absolutely no reception anywhere in all of the stores and the entire parking lot of the Village shopping center! This is a VERY dense area of the city - how can there be no reception???

Unbearingly low reception, especially for such a populated, well-travelled area. Reams road and most of Powhite / 195 are desolate lands of no reception for T-Mobile.

Cingular has suceeded in killing a good coverage area. Former Suncom customers that elect to keep their Unplan in the long run get screwed as you reception will be worse then that of Suncom. Since the switch I average at least 5-10 dropped calls a day and it is not the phone as my other phone does the same exact thing. Calling a CSR is no use as they have no idea what is going on except what is in front of the.

If I am on one side of the building, I have reception, but in my office, there is none.

Excellent coverage in Richmond with the exception of the church hill area.

I've used Sprint PCS service in the Richmond, VA area for the past 5 years. I also travel all over the state of Virginia. I can actually say the coverage has gotten better over time. I am very pleased with my service and don't see a need for adding the roaming package. The most interesting thing I noticed about Sprint's serice was about 2 1/2 years ago. Even though the entire city lost power during the hurricane, I never lost service.

I am very annoyed with Alltel. There are many areas of no service between Charlottesville and Richmond driving on I64. I can be having a conversation and frequently lose reception. Also, I turned on my cell phone today to place a call only to find my service cut off. I found out my service had been cut because my bill was 9 days late. Apparently it is automatic despite the Christmas holidays. I explained that perhaps the bill might take a bit longer to get there with the extra influx of mail due to Christmas cards and everything. I couldn't believe she went on to thanks me for my business. I further explained that they had just lost my business.

I can watch my signal strenght vary from 5 bars to 2 in a matter of feet, causing a lot of dropped calls.

Depending on weather, I see either Roam or Partner onscreen, while standing in front of the AT&T office.

I couldn't get a signal even if I wanted to call 911.

Previously with T-Mobile I got 1-2 bars in my house. As of recently, I'm down to zero. When I walk 25 feet south / east, I can get 1 bar and can occasionally make a call.

I must be in a bad area, calls dropped often.

There is a cell tower right next to 64 which covers most of the Short Pump area. However, as one reaches edge of the coverage of this tower, there isn't another tower close enough to prevent dead spots especially south of Short Pump (observed south/southeast of Short Pump).
