As long as I am not in the middle of my aluminum siding house, I tend to get really good reception. The only odd thing being of course that at some times, the reception will come and go in waves. I am at the end of Elko almost and close to the RIC airport. I know that generally in the Sandston area the reception for my phone is good. If you bought a phone make sure to drive around a little in the area to see if you get reception. If not, you usually can cancell / change your service in the first seven days. That's what I did.

As someone else noted, Suncom UnPlan customers who refuse to take a new Cingular contract and, in some cases, a $70 / mo. rate hike are taking a beating. Dropped calls are the norm, all over Richmond and Cingular does not seem to care, other than wanting to sign you up on their new plan. They could not care less. Do yourself a favor and find another provider.
