We purchased our Sprint phones and contract in 2007 after returning from overseas (military). We had NEXTEL 2001-2004 and had great service. Our phones worked well for a couple years so we dropped our land line. Over the past year, our coverage has degraded and now we have to go outside to make a call. There are spots in our neighborhood that are completely dead with Sprint. What happens if I need to make an emergency call? Sprint needs to increase their strength or they will lose more customers.

I live on top of a hill, have a brand new phone, and still have no service in my home... but it's only spuradicly. Most of the time I have perfect service, but one day a week (usually tuesdays or wednesdays) I have no service not just in my home... everywhere... .at work, at home, while i'm out driving around. I can't call anyone. Even before I had the iphone it used to do this with my razor phone. It's very frustrating, especially when I am trying to meet up w a friend and I haven't been able to recieve or send texts or calls for 8 hours now... :- / I can't even call AT&T to complain... because everytime I try to make a call it says "call failed"

Many dead spots in the backroads of Stafford County. Mountain View High School is right on the edge of coverage area. Great service, when it works, but unfortunately we're probably going to go with Verizon.

T-mobile pay as you go plan. We are near the edge of T-Mobile's coverage map so most of the time there is no signal on the backroads around the Mountain View / Hartwood area. Spotty coverage on I-95. It's a shame, too, because it's so nice not having a contract or having to pay $1 to use your phone that day. We loved our T-Mobile service in Illinois.

I have almost no reception inside my home. I live down towards the bottom of a slightly hilly neighborhood. I can get reception when I leave my driveway, but inside the house I have only one bar and people tell me I sound garbled sometimes. Calls cut in and out, sometimes the call drops. I also have an aircard for my laptop and I sometimes cannot get any signal at all to initiate an internet session. I have contacted Cingular (now AT&T) several times. They want to blame my phone, however I get fine reception when I'm out and about. My persistance finally persueded them to initiate a "Network Quality Report", where they found that I am towards the bottom of a hilly area! And the signal pretty much passes over my house, which results in the poor signal quality! They may put in another tower *IF* other people in my area contact them to get a Network Quality Report done.

The phone and signal is average at best. Bad reception through out the area, Dropped calls up and down I95. There customer service is poor. People are rude and obnoxious when you talk to them and do not valve the customer what so ever. At one time they threaten to cut my service off if I didn't make a payment for a bill that they never sent out. After arguing with them they finally realized it was there mistake. Sorry SIR we never mailed the bill out. I paid that bill on the next billing cycle and the following week they sent the bill they never sent that I already paid. That was the last straw so when I call to see about cancelling my service, they slapped a $1000 cancellation fee at me. Needless to say I have to deal with these idiots for one more year.

A few years ago I couldn't get a signal inside the house. I would have to go outside to get a signal. Now I am able to get two bar signal and have OK reception inside the house. It seems that Cingular is trying to improve signal strength since I am not aware of any changes to the area's topography.

I travel all over the US for my job, but this rating will focus on "at home calls" first. In Aquia Harbour, with all of the hilly areas, the reception can be a bit sketchy, but overall performance even in my house is acceptable. As for travel, I have been out of service only once and we travel to some pretty remote places. Sometimes 20-or so miles off the beaten path. Verizon, you could do better, but you doing alright. BTW - my field is the RF spectrum.
