I have almost no reception inside my home. I live down towards the bottom of a slightly hilly neighborhood. I can get reception when I leave my driveway, but inside the house I have only one bar and people tell me I sound garbled sometimes. Calls cut in and out, sometimes the call drops. I also have an aircard for my laptop and I sometimes cannot get any signal at all to initiate an internet session. I have contacted Cingular (now AT&T) several times. They want to blame my phone, however I get fine reception when I'm out and about. My persistance finally persueded them to initiate a "Network Quality Report", where they found that I am towards the bottom of a hilly area! And the signal pretty much passes over my house, which results in the poor signal quality! They may put in another tower *IF* other people in my area contact them to get a Network Quality Report done.
The phone and signal is average at best. Bad reception through out the area, Dropped calls up and down I95. There customer service is poor. People are rude and obnoxious when you talk to them and do not valve the customer what so ever. At one time they threaten to cut my service off if I didn't make a payment for a bill that they never sent out. After arguing with them they finally realized it was there mistake. Sorry SIR we never mailed the bill out. I paid that bill on the next billing cycle and the following week they sent the bill they never sent that I already paid. That was the last straw so when I call to see about cancelling my service, they slapped a $1000 cancellation fee at me. Needless to say I have to deal with these idiots for one more year.
A few years ago I couldn't get a signal inside the house. I would have to go outside to get a signal. Now I am able to get two bar signal and have OK reception inside the house. It seems that Cingular is trying to improve signal strength since I am not aware of any changes to the area's topography.
